I agree. Obviously he missed something. Maybe he got in a hurry.I've absolutley no idea how that conclusion is arrived at from what I said. I didn't forbid marriage. Marriage isn't the focus of the discussion or what I said.
But nice verse quote.
I meant teaching the commandments as an obligation. Anyway it sure is a different approach to Paul.Isn't that something?![]()
What do you mean by we're free indeed? I see you trying to force keeping the law point everywhere.

SWhat are you including in the whole law that us lowly gentiles have to keep? Are these part of it? Just curiousWe are free from the OC law of circumcision but not all OC law. We have forgiveness each and every time we fail to obey Christ and what he teaches, as we ask forgiveness and only as we forgive others ourself. Jesus didn't invent anything new that already wasn't law. Everything He teaches is already in the law of God. So the whole law is not dead as far as Jew or Gentile is concerned.
Because the false teachers hadn't crawled out from under the rocks yet!! Hold on though, they're coming soon.
Me tooI forgot all about this thread...LOL!
I put this one together using reftagger. I copied it from Wiki but added the function of reftagger. Hover your mouse over each verse citation to read it without clicking it. Very educational and should be wonderful for those who wish to wallow in the Law...
613 Laws of the Old Testament
Do you agree that Christians should obey all 613 commandments?

Jesus fulfilled the Law so we do not have to. He said it is finished. Either it is or it isn't. Which do you believe? If righteousness could be attained by the Law then Christ died for nothing. The summation of it is found in Acts 15. and the familiar 'If we love the Lord with all our hearts, love our neighbors as ourselves', and follow these words...
For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials: that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication; if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well. Farewell. (Acts 15:2829, NASB95)
I can see no reason to point a finger at anyone and say they are lacking. I mean what do we do argue with the Holy Ghost? If he says we are doing well who are we to tell someone otherwise? Jesus lived under the Law perfectly, he died under the Law sinless and arose to heaven to present that offering to the Father. It was accepted. He now gives us grace within these boundaries I have set forth as I see it in the Scripture.
I would go for the "it is finished"Jesus fulfilled the Law so we do not have to. He said it is finished. Either it is or it isn't. Which do you believe?
AMEN! Preach it sister!Did you notice the redundancy?
Who put this together, and were they under the direction of the Holy Spirit? Reading it alone is shriveling to one's spirit. God never is. As Jesus said Himself:
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." ~Matthew 11:28-30
Sounds like Jesus was telling those burdened under this soul-killing nonsense to come to Him for relief from these shackles and chains.
