  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Acts 20: 7And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
We know that the day started at evening, so the night would have been directly after the Sabbath. Once the disciples were assembled for Sabbath meaning and knowing that Paul was leaving they continue until midnight. It certainly could not be day time Sunday that they met, because the following night would have been the second day not the first.

Where does Jesus say to remember the sabbath?
Jesus is the I Am. The I am Spoke to Moses. Jesus is God. Jesus and the Father are one.
What the father does or say is of the son, as well as what the son does and say is of the father. John 14.
8Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?
10Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

It has been pointed out in the forum that those two commandments are much broader than even the 10 Cs. While they in no way indicate an obligation to them.
You mean while we do not want to indicate or accept any obligation to them.

So spearhead a movement for such about the sabbath. All of the things cited aboe were started by one single individual. Want to make history?
No need. It has already been done and on going even in this tread, in the work of sabbath keepers around the world and in the word of God most of all.
The problem is that just like the Israelites, we are faltering just on the border of the "promise land".
It shows why Jesus made statements like, would He find faith when He comes. The very elect would be deceived except those days be shorten, depart from Me I never knew you.
The is the situation also, of where there are 10 virgins, indicating that they are all of the church, but five are foolish and lost.
The world are showing the signs of fulfilling prophecy and the soon return of Christ but christians are decreasing in number. Those maintain the name are denying vital truths. A very sad situation. Satan knows he has a short time but we are unaware.

Very entertaining. The hoops one will jump through to deceive is increditable. What day is it that you mentioned when Paul preached to them until midnight? Is it the sabbath or the first day of the week? Your mixing two ways of accounting for time to say that it wasn't the first day of the week. IOW you're calling Saturday the sabbath by the Gregorian calendar when it fits. You don't observe the sabbath as the 24 hr period of time called Saturday. The sabbath is considered as sundown to sundown starting on Friday of the Gregorian calendar these days. It isn't even the Biblical sabbath. The time period being talked about technically would be Sunday- the first day of the week, not Saturday and most certianly not the sabbath.

The last statement of your argument presented only shows that the sabbath wasn't Sunday. It also enforces the doubble standard in the calling of days as convient.

So I find the claim to be fraudulent based on a deceptive idea.

Jesus isn't THE I AM. Jesus was before Abraham as stated in John 8:58. Big difference there. This is an obvious declaration stating the Jesus is God. Jesus isn't stating that He is the Father Who issued the 10 Cs. I can back that up with OT Scripture only if you would like.

Jesus isn't saying He is the Father in the conversation with Phillip. BTW that would be denying the trinity a requirement for posting in this section and possibbly a denial of the statement of faith from your church.

I will let you have the weekly sabbath. I have the rest that Jesus offered in Mat 11:28-30 which isn't the sabbath but the rest that they couldn't enter into because of unbelief. I rest my body every night and my soul 100% of the time.

I don't follow you. There is no deceptive idea. It is common know that the day is from even to even in all Biblical recounting. Therefore midnight on the first day would be after Sabbath day light. So that the disciples being assembled for Sabbath worship continued until midnight.

What did Jesus mean when He said that He and His Father are one?
That is all I am saying. What the Father ordains is what the Son ordains. What ever you conceive as being done by the father is as done by the sun.
Is that not So?

I clearly mean that a Christian has no, none as in absolutely no obligation to the law. This isn't permission to sin. Again incidence isn't obedience as I stated and illustrated in many posts.

I believe that is unacceptable. Doing is not obeying? That is what it sounds like.

It isn't a declaration that they're one and the same. Just like the statement and they shall be one flesh isn't a declaration that a married man and woman are the same individual being.

To be honest if you think keeping the 10 commandments can cause you to get the remission of sins then you're silly. The Lord our passover was sacrificed, so one is unleavened by that alone. Of course as a unleavened lump you do not sin anymore. You adding anything is in essence a Pharisee act. The Lord said "beware the leaven of the Pharisees". The Pharisees kept the law blamelessly, did you know that? Or was Paul speaking in vain when he was recalling in his past of when he used to be a Pharisee?
