No because-

There's "...the doctrine of baptism s..." (Heb 6:2). There's 3 main Biblical baptisms, immersions.

1 - By The Holy Spirit into Jesus reconcilng us to God (at salvation). By this iimmersion we are a new creature in Christ (ii Cor 5:17).
2- By Jesus who sends the promise of the Father baptists us "by," "with" and "in" the Holy Spirit and comes upon us (The Spirit baptism)
3 - By another believer. All 3 persons of the Godhead involved in this, the water baptism, as well.

1 - By The Holy Spirit into Jesus which reconciles us to God is the baptism at salvation. It's being baptized by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ by believing in His death, burial, and resurrection. We become new creatures in Christ. We will tell others of our salvation. (Rev 1:5; Matt 26:28; Mark 1:4-9, 16:16; Luk 3:3; 1 Cor 12:13; Acts 2:38; Gal 3:27, II Cor 5:17-18, Rom 3:25,, 5:9, 10:9).

2- Then we can receive The Spirit baptism. By Jesus who sends the promise of the Father baptists us "by," "with" and "in" the Holy Spirit (The Spirit baptism) includes when the Holy Spirit comes upon us, He endures us with power for service to Him and to keep His Word. (Matt 3:11; Mark 1:8, Luke 3:16; John 1:33, Acts 1:5, 8:14-17, 10:44-48, 11:16; Luk 24:49, Eph 5:18, Acts 4:31; I John 3:24; Eze 36:25-28; John 14:25-27).

3- after salvation, water baptism following Jesus' example - though His was not because of sin . "... fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness," (Matt 3:6-16, 28:18-20; Acts 8:39, 10:47, 22:16; John 3:5).

"And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one." I John 5:8.

I was just wondering does a person need to be baptized in water in order to be saved ?
John the Baptist made the comparison between his baptism in water and the baptism of Jesus Christ of Nazareth with His Holy Spirit. Blessings

Luke 3
15 Now as the people were in expectation, and all reasoned in their hearts about John, whether he was the Christ or not, 16 John answered, saying to all, “I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 17 His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather the wheat into His barn; but the chaff He will burn with unquenchable fire.”

So we really need to be baptized in water ?

New Christians may not tap into everything that is available to them to help them experience the transformation:

I do not know of any Christian group, who believe the water itself saves you, since all believe it is God who saves and God is not limited by water.

Water baptism is not a “requirement” for salvation, since God does the saving, but is something Christians get to do in order to help them and others.

I know that I needed everything God could provide to assure me of my conversion, both outwardly and mentally. God wants you to physically feel the experience of what is going on Spiritually.

You would like to add to your conversion a definite time place and physical experience, which God has provided for you.

Adult believers water immersion is to be a physical outward representation of what had or is happening spiritually in the person being baptized. It is mainly to help the individual being baptized to better grasp what is going on, but it can “witness” to others observing the baptism. It has the elements of going down under the water (burying the old man), placing your dependence in another; the person baptizing you (surrendering your life to God), being washed (having your sins washed away), rising out of the water (rising from the old dead body), and stepping forth out onto the earth (a new person). The person is walking out into the hugs of his new family. It is also a sign of your humility, since it is a humbling act anyone can simple allow someone to do to them (so not a work) and since humility has been shown in the accept of charity (God’s free gift of undeserving forgiveness) it should just support and add to the memory of that acceptance. To refuse Christian water baptism when it is readily available might mean you are not ready to handle other responsibility like having the indwelling Holy Spirit and you are hurting yourself.

Christian Baptism replaced John’s Baptism and not circumcision, since circumcision went on at the same time as John’s baptism and it is not in the Bible where, Jewish Christians cease circumcising their boy children after baptism became available. Circumcision was a physical visible daily reminder to all Jewish boys and men that they were a Jew. The indwelling Holy Spirit is our literal daily reminder that we are Christians. The indwelling Holy Spirit replaced circumcision and is for both men and women.

Ues, we must be baptized

The Christian meaning of baptism is an outward and public expression of your identity with Jesus and to proclaim that you love, trust, and hope in Him. No way around it,

There is n way arund it
The better question may be whether a Christian can refuse baptism and be saved.
Question: Is there saving grace without baptism?

If the question is "Can a person be saved even if they were never baptized?" Then the answer is yes.

If the question is "Does baptism save us?" The answer is also yes.

If the question is "Does a person need to be baptized?" The answer is also yes.

The Bible clearly teaches that baptism is necessary, and that it is salvific--because it is a means of grace.
The Bible also clearly teaches that salvation is not about doing X, Y, Z, 1, 2, 3; but is about God meeting sinners and working to restore them to Himself.

So anyone who treats baptism as a work needed to be done in order to earn salvation misunderstands baptism and misunderstands salvation; and by the same token, anyone who treats baptism as a mere religious ritual with no saving power has misunderstood baptism and misunderstands salvation.

There are two errors that one can fall into with baptism. Avoid both of these errors. The Scriptures present for us a clear teaching about baptism, that it is a work of God by which He graciously intervenes in our life to accomplish those things which He Himself has promised. For the promises attached to baptism, the Scriptures are abundant: John 3:5, Acts 2:38, Romans 6:1-3, Galatians 3:27, Colossians 2:11-12, Ephesians 5:26, and 1 Peter 3:21.

Out of ignorance? Because that's the only scenario where this question could even make sense. It would be like asking if a Christian can reject Jesus Christ and be saved.

If it were ignorance, it would not be a refusal. But you see my point.

Baptism is required for salvation in ancient traditions because baptism and receiving the Holy Spirit happen at the same time.

Baptism is not required for salvation in most contemporary traditions because baptism receiving the Holy Spirit happen at separate times.

In water? no

In The Holy Spirit? Yes

Salvation is a renewal of our human spirit by the blood of Jesus, and that blood is applied by The Holy Spirit at our born again experience. That is when we are saved. Accept no substitutions.

Water immersion is a step that Jesus took that we must take also, but it follows our born again experience, as scripture describes throughout the book of Acts by our Apostles. Pay attention to scripture not tradition.

The third step we must take to follow Jesus is the filling of The Holy Spirit, but a lot of people somehow become inherently dumb at that point and listen to their friends or their denomination instead of GOD and refuse to do it.

Even more rare is the person that is able to get through their wilderness after their filling and obtain the anointing upon their head and the clothing upon of The Holy Spirit, so that The Holy Spirit can operate the greater gifts of The Spirit.

How does one achieve this ?
