The Current Account deficit is huge and has been for decades, change will therefore come soon, the real choice is what type of change.

1. The best change.
I would follow the German route to success and educate the entire population and financially support start up ventures that have a good chance of success.

Increasing inequality in Britain and the US are excluding an increasing proportion of the population from making a significant contribution to the economy.

Educate them in what? I don't think everyone needs a full education.

Education and training

I don't share the same optimism about how well things have been going, certainly they are not quite as bad as starting 3 trillion dollar wars, but the long term trend makes me worried.
