  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I don't get this perceived racism form Trump. How is he racist? I honestly think that is a smear attack.

I myself, have been called racist, being a 41 year old white male, that has problems with Illegals in this country. I have a black daughter (bi racial) and I am still called racist. The problem arise for me when, having been born in this country, I cannot get a job in my industry because I do not speak spanish. In Florida, general labor, construction, landscaping, housekeeping, agriculture, and temp labor is dominated by spanish speaking illegals. And when I say dominated, I mean over 90%. They throw in a token white or black guy here or there, but it is vastly dominated by spanish illegals. I myself being 6' 6" 297lbs have always been involved in heavy labor, construction, and landscaping. I have around 16 years of managerial experience, a BA in Horticulture, an AA in Landscape Management, and an AA in Environmental Landscape Design. I was also a State certified spray tech, and able to detect and treat diseases, mites, bugs, in landscaping or citrus. But I cannot get a job. Because I do not speak spanish. How am I to compete with a bilingual puerto rican who can do some of what I can? The crew I would be assigned to couldnt understand me, and both the crew, and the new manager will work for way cheaper because they do not have those pesky taxes, and fees to pay.

Ohh, yeah... I should learn spanish. That is the key, huh? I was born in this country. We speak english. I should not be disenfranchised by an illegal migrant workforce in my own country. That is not racist. Americas jobs should go to Americans. Then we can hire outsourced labor. I personally say, close the borders, build the wall, and place illegals back on their own side of that wall.

The illegals aren't going anywhere any time soon.
The sad reality is that about the only thing that will get you out of the predicament you're in is learning Spanish.
Luckily it's an easy language to learn.

Maybe if we actually enforced our immigration laws, a good number of them will be caught and deported (and companies illegally hiring them will be punished). Right now, it's kinda-sorta treated like jaywalking, it takes someone who is in a particularly bad mood to actually do anything about it, otherwise it's just overlooked usually.

One of the things Trump wants to change, he wants our immigration laws to be enforced much more than they are now.

Nah.. send em packin. We have the sovereign right as a nation to remain focused on our own economy and labor force before determining that of other nations. I have to the right to speak the language of the country I was born in and be hired over others that do not speak the native language.

Of course it is. That's the technique--throw out anything that sounds bad and see if it gains any traction with the low information voter. If not, try something else.

I won't be voting for any "establishment" candidate.

My vote goes to Gary Johnson.

Never met a Trump supporter that didn't embrace violent, sexist, xenophobic rhetoric. . . doesn't justify violence against them, but violence against them certainly doesn't justify joining them.

I'll bet you haven't met many Trump supporters. What a load of bunk. I know many Trump supporters and NOT ONE would embrace violent, sexist, or xenophobic rhetoric of any kind. Of course one can label something as violent rhetoric when it's not or sexist when it's not. As for xenophobic - what a load of drivel

Granted I only know 4 Trump supporters:

One is not sexist, she's just kind of old and right wing, southern-white

One is not xenophobic, she thinks Trump is a practical joke & she is Puerto Rican

One is not violent, but he is xenophobic and sexist to the point I think he'll probably loose his job soon because of his conduct in the workplace.

The last one was a sniper, is a 3%er and may have ties to the KKK.

I could have put "and/or" between each item in my list, but chose commas for brevity.

Still nonsense. Please explain how your extremely limited friends that are trump supporters is significant. Also tell us exactly what it means to be xenophobic. Not the definition, I know that. What is that person doing exactly that you would label him xenophobic?

He asks a judge to recuse himself because he doesn't believe that Mexicans can be objective and you don't get it that this is a racist remark? I can't help you.
