On another topic, when presented with clear evidence for evolution above the species level in plants, a creationist said this:

most people do not question the evolution of plant life. Thats a nontopic.

So, I am curious, is this the opinion of most creationists? Do they really think that plants evolve and animals do not? And if plants were created the same way as animals why would they evolve while animals do not?

Plants aren't real life forms, that's why Noah didn't take them on the ark.

Yep...I've heard them pitch that one before....because plants aren't capable of movement, they aren't really living things....

Yes.......really..........

Wonder if plants have kinds?

"Yep, all them thar grasses come from the grass kind. Monkey grass, bermuda grass, field grass... it all came from the same kind 'bout seven thousand years ago. And it all magically lived through that thar flood too!"

Plants do not change as animals do. If evolution describes the behavior of animal change, then it does not apply to plants.

Even though they both reproduce and mutate with inherited genetic variation?

The mechanism is different.

Seeds from an apple tree grow new trees with different DNA. But the new tree is still a 100% apple tree.

(Ha, see what have I learned.)

Just imagine what we could all learn if those of us who enjoyed science researched new topics everyday. As I read the creationist responses on here, they aren't interested in knowledge or facts... it's just stupid jokes, hairbrained questions, and false statements that a third grader should know.

For some, bananas are 50% human.

LOL.

The modern banana is a genetic monstocity that is completely man made and preserved only through the efforts of humans. If we decided not to actively ensure the survival of the fruit we see in supermarkets, it would die out likely within a few years.
