I got my nose pierced yesterday at a local tattoo studio in the city centre. It wasn't too bad, but did make my eyes water. The piercer was very polite, explained to me what he was going to do etc. Very happy with the result. :)

Do any of you own a nose piercing? If so, would like to hear your experiences. If you don't have one, are you thinking of getting one?

Yes, many parlors do piercing as well as tattooing. Interesting that in Ezekiel 16.12 the Lord Himself is recorded as giving Zion a nose ring. (In the context, it is one of various things that God gives Zion to wear, symbolizing the blessing that comes from Him, which is totally undeserved: the before/after contrast is so deep.)

I have one! It was done years ago in my kitchen with an earring gun actually. I only wear tiny studs, generally a stone of various color. I have a tiny flower still, I think.
Oh so you did it yourself! rather than in a parlor. :)

If you had your time again, would you opt to have it done in a parlor instead? (or advise others who are younger who might want to do it, to use a parlor for it? you do read stuff about guns being sometimes problematic if not used for ears only; but maybe these fears are exaggerated, IDK.)

I was in my late 20's when it was done lol! I thought nothing of it. My sister had her's done in a parlor and it was painful..mine wasn't at all! With clean areas, properly functioning equipment and knowledge of aftercare, I see no issues with home piercings for noses. I know ears have been done in homes forever, I feel the same about those lol.

So you feel more comfortable getting pierced and/or doing piercings at home, rather than at a tattoo/piercing parlor; well, fine!

You sister evidently didn't have any inhibitions in going to the parlor, though maybe the word 'inhibitions' is wrong anyway; but I can't think of another word for the moment.

Nope, neither of us did :) She had her's done before I had mine. We're both happy with what we chose.

Sometimes siblings influence each other's jewelry and even ink choices, but I'm guessing that you and your sister are individuals who do and get exactly what you choose, without peer pressure!
