I heard a healing preacher on TV say that if you have the Holy Spirit you will speak in tongues. He said its the evidence of the holy spirit. Any comments are welcome.
While tongues is a git and it is still for today and nowhere in scripture does it say that Tonge HAVE ceased yet, not all speak with tongues even though they may all have the Spirit Baptism. There are many gifts and signs. But consider this verse

"29 Are all apostles? [the answer is no] are all prophets? [the answer is no] are all teachers? [the answer is no] are all workers of miracles?[the answer is no]30 Have all the gifts of healing? [the answer is no] do all speak with tongues?[the answer is no] do all interpret? [the answer is no] (1 Cor 12:29,30 KJV)

It is not the sign given to every believer. but only to those who believe

False -- I know many born-again ones that do not speak in tongues.

Actually, the statement above seems to make no sense?

In Mark 16: Jesus is not talking about the gifts of the
Holy Spirit distributed within the Spirit-filled church,
he is declaring that these signs [different word in the Greek]
shall follow them that believe.
And in Pentecostal churches that are Bible obedient this is the case.
When converts are water baptized and receive the indwelling Holy
Spirit they burst forth in new tongues just as Jesus said they would.

Do all speak in tongues?
Depends on you faith, doctrine and church.
In The Revival Fellowship, yes we all do.

But do all operate the voice gift of diversities of tongues in a
church meeting - no
Do all operate the voice gift of interpretation in a church meeting - no
Do all operate the voice gift of prophecy in a church meeting - no
But do all speak in tongues as their personal individual daily prayer
language as the sign of being baptized in the Holy Spirit - yes!

It is not the sign given to every believer. but only to those who believe
the gospel preached by Jesus and the Apostles.
That's why over the last 120 years of Pentecost the original true gospel
of salvation has been called the full gospel.
No omissions.
You understand that that's a partisan reply, of no significance to Christians who belong to other churches and denominations. You are entitled to believe it, of course, just like all the other folks who come here to pronounce that their denomination is the one true church and only true church that Christ founded.

In addition, though, the verse we're looking at means something entirely different than you want it to mean, anyway.
