From what I gather, on September 5th, the DNC had democratic rules to pass 'viewpoints' for them as a group to stand in and in one particular case where the votes did not side with the opinion of the organizers of the event the organizers passed the 'viewpoint' against the established rules and majority of the vote. It seems that this decision was never retracted.

My question is: Why is this not news? I can scarcely find any mention of this on any news segment nor is there are post on this forum about it. Even if the democrats don't care that their event does not support democracy, I would have thought the republicans would be all over this?

You mean the republicans that offered up an un-electable sacrificial lamb again. There will be no meaningful resistance . .. . If you hate the idea of Obama back in office, you should hate the Republicans for refusing this race as well.

There are (at least) two pretty big threads in American Politics:

The Daily Show had a nice segment on it.

But yeah, that seems pretty bad. I have no idea how important that party platform is (I get the impression it's mostly symbolic), but the organisation was clearly pushing through their viewpoint instead of listening to the delegates.
