And as much as I may disagree with him on a lot of things, I've noticed that left-leaning blogs tend to take him out of context a LOT. It's gotten to the point where I don't trust anything I read about him on HuffPo or elsewhere; almost always, the things he actually says are way more tame and reasonable than the things he's described as saying.

The left has ideology and the right has ideology. Whenever either side interprets anything, they like to put their spin on it.

Scalia is a brilliant legal mind and I respect that, but he has his own personal ideology, just as all the justices do. And although they would never admit it, it factors into their legal opinions.

IMO, being a chief justice is such a unique position, with so much power, these people need to watch what they say. As Scalia has aged, he has seemed to talk more about topics, he did not in his younger years.

Of course they do. Do you expect them to break down in tears and say "Yes judge, we forced those confessions for which two innocent men spent 30 years in prison"?

They darned well better stick to their stories.

The current DA does not stand by it, however. He did not oppose releasing the defendants because the DNA "threw the confessions under the bus". I linked to that in an earlier post, which you apparently did not catch.

That said, your reasons for deflecting every piece of new evidence information is beyond logic and reason, IMHO.

Sure, sounds like the right way to get a confession to me.
