As has been stated a zillion times, there were the coerced confessions that in of themselves were not factually correct. You seem hung up on the confessions, when the confessions themselves weren't correct!

I believe that since 100% certainty is never a possibility because humans are flawed, the death penalty is ethically unjustifiable because inevitably it will lead to innocent life being taken at the hands of the state.
