  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm planning a trip to Disney for February vacation and am wondering if anyone has suggestions on where to stay? I have made reservations for the Port Orleans French Quarter but am thinking of upgrading to the Fort Wilderness if the AP rates come out and are cheap enough. Has anyone stayed at either? I thought of posting this in the travel section but there's not much activity there and this is such a family oriented resort I figured I'd start here.

Thanks!

We stayed at Fort Wilderness in a trailer years ago. The trailer gave us enough space, but also gave us a real kitchen which enabled us to keep food costs down.

Buy The Unofficial Guide to Disney World. Their information and plans will save you lots of time and better help you manage the part. They test all of their ideas and update the information constantly.

Thanks for the info. I'm not necessarily looking for the cheapest way, since I have the money tucked aside already. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with the Wilderness Lodge itself and could compare upgrading from a moderate to a luxury Disney hotel.

I'm sure the camp site is beautiful!! I know a few people who camp there and just love it........that being said, I'm so not a camper it's not even funny. When I go on vacation I don't just not want a kitchen... I don't even want to be reminded of a kitchen. :sorry: I want someone else to do laundry/dishes/cooking at all times. I figure it's only a few weeks out of every year and I want to totally relax....as much as someone with two kids is able to that is. ;) I'm sure as the kiddos get older and my needs/ wants change, so will my idea of a perfect vacation but for now, it's to not do dishes/cooking/laundry, to be 100% entertained and have the kids entertained as well. Laughing and smiling often is definitely a must as well which is why I love Disney!!!

Thanks again!

The Dis is the perfect place for you to ask your question-just go to the resorts forum! The Dis is a place for Disney lovers of all ages-they have trip reports, restuarant reports, resort reports, and a whole lot more :)

Here is the Dis' description of the Wilderness Lodge, and you can also take a tour. Here is a room description.
