No! By observing the graph YOU furnished, it is a HUGE spike that's been sustained for 50 years.

That would be the opposite of what you're saying.

I truly do not think you know what I'm saying.

This argument is not about God creating a 50 year "spike" of natural disasters, it is about the disasters of this year having some sort of extra significance from God when compared to last years natural disaster statistics.

Furthermore, drich wanted to argue not only the number of tornados but the "significance" of them by looking at casualties. Check out the trend line for the number of casualties and it's dropped down way low. This is in part due to our weather forecasting system that warns people of incoming disasters.

There is nothing statistically abnormal about this year's natural disasters.

In perspective to this argument, absolutely not.

There have been many, many years with hundreds of tornado deaths (as per the statistics I posted). This is a year with hundreds of tornado deaths. I see no anomalies. You can say "Well compared to last year, they are way more frequent!", my response to that is that this happens literally all the time with weather and disasters. You can have a good year and be fortunate to not lose many people, and then the next year get hit badly. That is why such a narrow focus does no good, you're not proving anything out of the ordinary.
Which is exactly what a discussion of the weather is all about. It is a neutral ground that those not looking for a fight will concede to. It is only those looking to be right will find fuel so that they make the effort.

His point is that the larger you increase the timescale, the more accurate you become. You are shrinking the timescale down to a couple of years, his point is that this is a much less accurate way of coming to a conclusion.
Accuracy here is subjective. Simply because given age of the earth, or even the time we live on it whether it be 1 year we look at or 50, it is still only a drop in the bucket compared to actual weather's history of this planet. If you want a truly accurate assessment then why not go back as far as recorded History will allow? Why limit your effort to 50 years? Why, because it goes back far enough to prove your point.

I on the other hand need only go back 1 year to prove mine, (Hint it has little to do with the weather) and more to do with the foolish nature of an argument concerning the weather, and the type of people who would pursue such an endeavor.

Also, yes I do know that this is a double edged sword.

You believe God purposefully created those tornado's to crash over cities and kill hundreds of innocent people in order to warn us that he's coming? How messed up is that?

Since accuracy seem to be the "fuel" that powers your efforts, Please Highlight my comments that lead you to your last conclusion. Just copy and paste or even give me a post number that has me telling you any of what you just posted.

If/when you can not find this post I would like for you to readdress your comments on "accuracy, and the need for evidence."

God is trying to wake the nations up. Hold fast. As the disasters get worse we will witness the greatest move of God in human history

So God is showing his love for us by sending us earthquakes, hurricanes, famines, diseases, etc? What sort of monster do you worship?

I know the mods will censor me so I'll keep it clean : you are an ash hole.

You display an even greater level of arrogance than most atheists I've come to know. You're always ready and willing to make a smart reply to somebody putting down their level of intelligence. You've done it to me multiple times and I've seen you do it to others (like here).

Yet when you speak, you make it sound like absolute truth and that you stand on the higher ground. Shame on you for misrepresenting your religion so poorly.

What exactly am I ignorant of? God's loving wrath (which is what this thread is about)? I told raze to prove it because the burden of proof is upon him to convince me that God is about to pour out his wrath.

Also, thank you for sharing the love of God as you Christians so frequently do. I'm sure you know that quote from Gandhi so I won't bother reiterating it here.

Yeah, this guy called me an idiot several times in another thread yet I was the one who got a warning from a mod about it. Maybe he got one too, but I doubt it because he's still flinging around insults at anyone he suspects of having less intelligence than himself.

When a person resorts to insults it means they've ran out of a reasonable argument.

:)

So sorry that i am making so difficult for you guys to simply walk all over and poop on what you seem to hate so much. And I am sorry that i hold you to your various levels of hypocrisy, and point out your elementary level Sunday school understandings of that in which you speak so absolutely, and securely about. In short I am sorry for making you doubt your "faith" or lack of it.

I always start out answering questions with the thought of showing the one who asks the questions how to start and maintain a new belief. However, more often than not what usually happens is that you all do not present questions, you present challenges, in question form. The difference being you do not care what the answer truly means, you just want to use those challenges to break or chip away at our faiths, or at the very least see if we can answer them, and a series of follow ups. (Just like you did in your first thread) When your role here has been established I change my approach.

Then What i say is not designed to hand hold you all through the process of belief. Or coddle you in what you believe to be a "Christian" response. Simply Because you all come here with your minds made up about belief. You all seem to be here to justify what it is you already want to believe. In order for you to do this it seems you have to smash up all of the competition. so I proceed to break down what you believe and expose it for what it really is. Just as so many of you try to do here to us. If your belief can not hold up to the same level of scrutiny as you hold "Christianity" up to then why believe it? Do you not see the Hypocrisy in all of that?

I am sorry if I make this process alot harder for you than you think it should be, but that is the way it is. Because I will not allow the majority of you to come here and smash up a place we all have built for honest people to come and seek the truth of God's word.

Do you think on the day of your judgment you will be shown leniency for your words, thoughts or deeds simply because you took the time to challenge someone's faith, and they could not meet your challenge? If I being nothing of any importance to the Christian Faith can so easily poke holes in your understandings, intents, logic and philosophy. What will you say or do before God?

If no part of you truly believes that there will be a final judgment then why are you here? No part of me believes in the Muslim or Mormon faiths. I do not need to justify my actions to their gods. Nor do I see a need to document my judgment day defense strategy before their gods. So i do not need to seek them out for debate.

Elementary level understandings, hm. Again, you seem to enjoy thinking of yourself on a higher and more intellectual ground. A great example of this is in the "Why Jesus didn't come back" thread, where you start talking about "lexicons and concordances" and using them to justify the meaning of genea. You got hosed in that argument by the same lexicons you use to support it, and you made no response to it at all. Your argument is completely defeated, you give up, and move on to display your superiority in another thread.

What's funny is if you go through that argument, you find that you do the same thing, end up resorting to insults. Calling people "foolish" multiple times, telling people they need their memory checked, etc. Your responses start off attempting to be rational, then as you are slowly "chipped away" at your responses become shorter and shorter, and filled more and more with insults instead of reason.

You are a disgusting disciple of Jesus' teachings.

The reason I decided to leave that argument is because the person in question does not understand how to use the reference material I have been referencing. Then when I broke the explanation down to it's most basic level the person then proceeded to tell me Wikipedia tells Him the Concordances and lexicons are not valid reference materials, in the decerning how bible was translated.. Which is ludicrous because these reference materials were compiled to that very end. To which i decided there was absolutely nothing more that can be said. I even admitted this in that post "That i was at the end of my ability to explain these facts."

What's funny is if you go through that argument, you find that you do the same thing, end up resorting to insults. Calling people "foolish" multiple times, telling people they need their memory checked, etc.
When I call a person a fool or label their efforts foolish, it is not just a name calling exercise. It is because their actions, words or deed comply with the definition of a fool or a foolish behavior.
I say these things as a way to wake up the person in question in hopes to shock them back into reality, so that the conversation may proceed on a coherent level.

Your responses start off attempting to be rational, then as you are slowly "chipped away" at your responses become shorter and shorter, and filled more and more with insults instead of reason.
Is that what happened with the answers i provided you? Did I insult you or simply show you the hypocrisy and arrogance of your challenges? (I know these are hot button words but look past them to their actual meanings. They do apply to your situation/behavior.) Is this why you stopped responding to me? Because you ran out of hurtful things to say, or cause doubt with me? Is this why you bring up My efforts in the other thread?

You are a disgusting disciple of Jesus' teachings.
Coming from one who hates Christ i guess that is actually a compliment.. (All of the disciples were hated by unbelievers too. to the point of death in most cases.)

I do not hate Jesus Christ, I actually respect many of his moral teachings that you so clearly do not follow.

"Loving wrath" makes no sense.

I never said God is about to pour out His wrath, so why would I try to convince you of that?
