I just watched as short clip of Neil deGrasse Tyson that put things into a different perspective for me.

"Dinosaurs were around for 200 million years before the asteroid struck. And it's only been 65 million years since. So given that fact it's likely that if the asteroid did not strike, they would still be here and we wouldn't"

I believe there was some research about the atmosphere. It gradually changed from it's high oxygen levels which is believed to have supported gigantism.

"There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown."

These are NOT giants made from men and angels. Scripture speaks of giants existing before the flood and after.

Yes, I support YEC.

God created Adam who died 930 years old. What age he sinned, I don't know, but I am positive in the first 100 years. From then on we can count genealogy using Noah, flood, Abraham, Israel, David, Jesus...so we know the Earth is around 6,000 years old from it's creation.
According to Jewish calendar, it's year 5,785. So there is a small gap, but it's not millions or billions of years.
Some argue that God created old earth. Well, we simple don't know that. And what do we compare it to? We simply know when the earth was created and that it took a day. We also had things like Noah's flood which was a world-wide event that reshaped the earth completely. What earth looked like before, we don't know.

When it comes to evolution...well it depends what you mean. Surviving of the fittest? Definitely no.
Do humans evolve, have we volved the past 6,000 years? Maybe, but if we did. God was the driving force.

From there we can track genealogy and we arrive we are in year around 6,000 +/- few decades, centuries maximum, not millions and definitely not billions of years.

I am not going to pretend I understand science. But what I know that when 'science' contradicts the Word of God, the 'science' is wrong. And that is the application in everything.

Btw science is never wrong, because God created everything, including science and all the laws in the universe. What can be wrong is the way we interpret science, whether intentionally or not.

Ivan, I'd like to share an observation with you here.

Adam LIVED for 930 years.

But he was created as a 20 or 30 year old.

Maybe even 40.

Note that Genesis says he LIVED for 930 years ...

Genesis 5:5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

For all others, it says how old they were when they died ...

Genesis 5:8 And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.

Genesis 5:11 And all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years: and he died.

Genesis 5:14 And all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years: and he died.

Adam was probably 950 - 970 when he died.
