Just like primates and felines being mammals isn't affected by believing or not that they share ancestry.

Primates and felines are mammals.
Just like birds are dinosaurs.

It's impossible to come up with a definition of "mammal" that includes ALL mammals, but excludes primates, without arbitrarily and explicitly adding "...but not primates" the definition.

In the same way, it is impossible to define "dino" to include ALL dino's, while excluding birds.
