Tell the truth, most of the time do you actually LOL?

  • I giggled

  • I'll just grinned

  • I thought to myself "I can see how that's funny..."

Right, i've sorted out the textual representation of actual laughter. Of course, given human individuality these are accurate purely for myself.

Hehe - Nowt more than a whimper.
Haha - A big old laugh/cackle.
Ho-ho-ho - Mimicking Santa? Oh no no no. Deep belly laugh.
*snort* - I snorted. You needed to know.
lulz - Internet funnies that induce internal laughter.
lololololololo - .... I did not laugh, but it was vaguely amusing.
LOL - I have nothing to say. I probably did not laugh, but simply not replying would be deemed rude.

There needs to be an "It Depends" option. Because for me it really does depend on how I use "LOL."

If I write....

"lol" - I probably just grinned or smiled and thought it was pretty humorous.
"LOL" - I probably giggled or chuckled at it.
"LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!" - Yeah, I'm probably really laughing out loud! ^_^:p

Scarily enough, this is me exactly.

I do laugh a lot, but usually it is a soft quieter laugh. So if I say "lol" I am usually laughing, but maybe I should use a different word like "he he" or something. When I find something extremely amusing I usually say something like "wow, that really made me laugh hard".

I laugh all the time too. Often silently.

I don't use it unless I at least chuckle, or unless I'm trying to be ironic with it. The way some people use it though, when I imagine them speaking out loud and actually laughing out loud every time they say "lol" I think they belong in a loony bin.

I mean lol... just imagine someone giggling every time they use lol... lol... it just doesn't seem natural lol... and why is it that the same people tend to overuse ellipses too lol...
