Peter's sermon to the Jews on Pentecost, "This man was handed over to you by God’s set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross." Acts 2:22Guys, I was just looking at a TV show where a guest has created a documentary on the Holocaust and one speaker in the documentary said "the Jews did not kill Christ".
my thinking is the Romans physically killed Christ but it was the Jews who forced it so they were responsible and accountable, your thoughts on this please?
Let me also add this to the mixing pot.Peter's sermon to the Jews on Pentecost, "This man was handed over to you by God’s set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross." Acts 2:22
Mt 27:22-25 Pilate said to them, "What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?" They all said to him, "Let Him be crucified!" Then the governor said, "Why, what evil has He done?" But they cried out all the more, saying, "Let Him be crucified!" When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it."When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. "I am innocent of this man’s blood," he said. "It is your responsibility!" All the people answered, "Let his blood be on us and on our children!"
That should pretty much settle the issue.
The rest of Acts of the Apostles 2 settles the issue.*That should pretty much settle the issue.
You are no longer Jew or Gentile when you become born again .
Paul participated in what the Jews as a whole were doing he isn’t individually guilty of murdering a Christian. He held their coats while they stoned Stephen [Acts of the Apostles 7:54-60, v. 58].
...or Jewish leadership, anyway.Jews as a whole...
The Bible says it pleasured God to sacrifice His Son........The entire Passion was orchestrated by God.....
One is still a Jew who is a Jew. What that means is now there is no separation between Jew and gentile...
I don't think you can blame the entire Jewish race for the actions of a handful.Guys, I was just looking at a TV show where a guest has created a documentary on the Holocaust and one speaker in the documentary said "the Jews did not kill Christ".
my thinking is the Romans physically killed Christ but it was the Jews who forced it so they were responsible and accountable, your thoughts on this please?
They both knew how it would play out... and agreed to do it, anyway. If God needed Jesus's blood for a new covenant purpose then this could have been done without torture?

That would be like blaming all white people for Jim Jones' massacre.I don't think you can blame the entire Jewish race for the actions of a handful.
Yes, Jews were instrumental as Peter cried out the Jews in the following plea for them to repent and be saved...Guys, I was just looking at a TV show where a guest has created a documentary on the Holocaust and one speaker in the documentary said "the Jews did not kill Christ".

How would His death be a sacrifice for all sin, if it were nothing more than the actions of an unruly mob...?That is some statement. I find it hard to believe that God would purposely "torture" his own innocent son?
Isaiah 53:10 King James Version (KJV)That is some statement. I find it hard to believe that God would purposely "torture" his own innocent son? If God needed Jesus's blood for a new covenant purpose then this could have been done without torture?
When I was a teenager, I couldn't understand the point of it, either. THIS PAGE helped to clear it up for me.I find it hard to believe that God would purposely "torture" his own innocent son? If God needed Jesus's blood for a new covenant purpose then this could have been done without torture?
But we are all so deadly sinful that I believe this grueling death shows us what our own punishment should look like...millions of times worse since we are sinners and Jesus is holy. Here's Scripture on the matter...That is some statement. I find it hard to believe that God would purposely "torture" his own innocent son? If God needed Jesus's blood for a new covenant purpose then this could have been done without torture?
Amen. It is dangerous territory to say "the Jews killed Jesus" because such incredible evil has been done with this slogan. And every disciple, every relative, every childhood friend of Our Lord was Jewish. As well as Himself.No. Jesus the Christ was pre-destined to willingly die, to shed His blood and die for all of mankind, just as it is written here:
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." ~John 3:16
Yes, you are right.Guys, I was just looking at a TV show where a guest has created a documentary on the Holocaust and one speaker in the documentary said "the Jews did not kill Christ".
