Guys, I was just looking at a TV show where a guest has created a documentary on the Holocaust and one speaker in the documentary said "the Jews did not kill Christ".

my thinking is the Romans physically killed Christ but it was the Jews who forced it so they were responsible and accountable, your thoughts on this please?

Yes they did.

If a judge sentences a man to death, when the man dies, it will be the judge who killed the man, even though it was by the hands of someone else. It is the judge’s decision to kill the man, not the people who are performing the killing.

Same for the Jews. They demanded Jesus be killed, and Pilate listened and had him killed (at their demand)

Acts of the Apostles 2:34-36
For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, “Yahweh said unto my Master, Sit thou on my right hand, Until I make thy foes thy footstool.”

Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Master and Messiah.

No. Jesus the Christ was pre-destined to willingly die, to shed His blood and die for all of mankind, just as it is written here:

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." ~John 3:16

This is a moot point. Jesus, His friends, His followers AND His enemies were all Jews.

If you are saved, today, you can thank a Jewish Apostle for getting the ball rolling.

Jesus died on account of the sins of men. We all killed Christ, and that blood is on our hands and our children's.

To isolate a group like 'the Jews' to lay responsibility, is harmful. Obviously not all Jews wanted Christ killed - what of His Jewish mother and disciples? Jesus of Nazareth was put to death by Pontius Pilate, a prefect for Tiberius. Legally therefore, Tiberius killed Jesus. It was at the behest of the Sanhedrin, especially Annas and Caiaphas, so you could argue something there historically. But you can't blame a blanket term 'the Jews'. Regardless, we are all culpable for His death, whether it was instigated by Jewish religious authorities or not.

The fault for Christ's death falls upon the entirety of humanity. Locally, an extremely small group of Jewish and Roman leaders were more personally responsible for His death.

The Jewish people, as a whole, were no more responsible for Jesus' death ... than were any other people of that (or any other) time. As has been stated, Jews made up nearly the entire drama of Christ's earthly life. Jesus' friends, family, followers, and foes were all Jewish. The original church was Jewish.

Some of them (Matthew 27:25), yes (there were some godly Jews even then (Luke 2:28-32)). That shouldn't justify antisemitism, though. But many godly Jews repented later (Acts 2:35-40). I believe that the Lord will save Israel (Romans 11:26) just as He saved gentiles like me (Romans 11:25). Peace in Christ :).

Does not matter who did it , the Jews took it on themselfes at Pilate judgement .
Matthew 27:25 King James Version (KJV)
25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

Pretty scary self curse to take blood of living God upon themselfes , no wonder things been bad since then for the Jew .

Hmnn very interesting point.
So, does that mean that Peter, Paul, John, et al. should be cursed, too?

(And Paul even murdered Christians...!)

[The point that they repented in Acts is an important one.]

It was the leadership of the Jews which condemned Jesus and admitted false charges against him, yet it was the Romans who dealt the punishments. All Jews can’t be blamed though for what their leadership did.

God's wrath is removed from people who trusted in him , you become new creature which is born of God and is sinless .

The same is true for the Jews who repented in Acts of the Apostles 2:35-40.

John 10:17
For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again. 18 No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father.”
