Did Paul consider himself a "sinner", are we supposed to think of ourselves as sinners...?

I would say no because there are many verses ironically written by Paul that say something like "being then made free from sin you become the servant of righteousness"

There's also 1 john 2:1 that says to sin not but if you sin address it with God.

There's also the "pe ye perfect as your father is perfect" verse.

In other words people are supposed to strive to not sin...and in order to do that it helps a lot if you don't declare you're a sinner...don't forget we also have life and death at the tounque. And so a man thinketh so is he.

Lastly there's this

romans 6:1-2

1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace mayabound?
2 God forbid *. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live anylonger therein *?

again with the familiar theme of resisting sin but if you do and God sees you striving to resist his Grace will be there to help cover up the grey area.

Very well said, except I don't think that you are really a dog turd. Nevertheless Scripture makes it clear that "all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves. Sad that some in this thread deny that they are sinners.

I know the scripture. I just done see proof that his weeping was repentance.

That is your assumption. It is not stated in scripture.

For one to repent for sin one must have committed the sin. He had not committed the sin yet.

Saying that All have sinned, is very different from saying that all will sin after being born from above. We have pull scriptures out that seem to verify every view there is out there. What God says is most important.

"Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."

Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? How can we that are dead to sin, live any longer there in?

If you truly repent, you will be given the power of the Holy Spirit to no longer commit willful sin. Without the Spirit, you will have no choice but to continue to keep sinning, as you admit you do. I was just like you for the first 30 years of going to church, but I stayed a sinner. Then I truly repented and the Holy Spirit fell on me like a wave, and the power of sin broke. I no doubt have committed unintentional sins while walking in the Spirit, but never again a willful sin where I committed what I knew to be sin. You see, I fell in love with God, and like a marriage, I never cheated on Him with willful sin.

It was not talking about the acts of Jesus alone...one time....It was talking about the act of Jesus in conjunction with the continued cycle of sinning and repentance by the Christian, for whom is it not possible to stop sinning?

e.g. Jesus only saves his people from sin, after they repent, and this is an ongoing process?

Oh my! You believe 1 John 1:8 is about a Christian. No, it is about those who still walk in darkness. A Christian walks in the light.

Since Adam sinned, all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But Jesus died to put an end to sinning. He never sinned, and He gave us His Spirit so we would also be dead to sin. Romans 8:2 "2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me FREE from the law of sin and death."

1 John 3:9 "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."

We need to understand something that is of big importance.... You are not yet in your resurrection body. Until you are? Your body is the body of a sinner. A sinner who has all his sins covered and paid for on the Cross. But? You remain in the body of a sinner as long as you remain physically on the earth. But, that also does not mean you have to live by the impulses and dictates of the ways of the flesh.

Romans 8:10-13

But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death
because
of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him
who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.

(the Spirit will control our body if we walk in the Spirit. To walk in the flesh is death = spiritually dead while sin takes over)

Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh,
to live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live."

Paul always realized that he was two different beings walking on this earth. He realized that he was a sinner. But! A sinner that was to be kept imprisoned and behind bars by means of the filling of the Holy Spirit and following where ever the Spirit wanted him to be! To be constantly growing in Truth!

When you enter your resurrection body, all you feel now, and think now... with be forgotten. Now we have a battle to fight. We need to fight Satan's influence on the minds of men. We need to fight to keep peace with those around us. And, very much so. We need to be vigilant to become the master over our feelings and emotions that our sin nature will try desperately to influence and get its way. We are to owe NOTHING to our flesh.

I didn’t ask you to comment for me on your beliefs.

You have already said that you have never told a lie to anyone or ever wanted something someone else has even in thought or ever been angry or unloving to anyone.

Although somehow you managed to bear false witness against me, so your Bible must be different then mine, because you sinned against me.

That is why we pray for forgiveness, because we are in bondage to sin and cannot free ourselves. It is only through the Blood of the Lamb that we are cleansed from our sins.

No 1 John 1:8 is very clear--"If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

If you claim to be without sin you are sadly mistaken. Why else would we ask God "to forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us"?
