'Left Hanging' by Shannon Grissom. (For those unaware of the context, Gus Grissom had left a lemon hanging from the door of the rocket in a show of dissatisfaction at the program.)

There were several emergency landings that caused aircraft damage during the life of the program, but there were only two accidents that resulted in a serious injury or a fatality.

On Nov. 9, 1962, NASA pilot Jack McKay was flying X-15 No. 2 when he experienced engine failure and had to land early at Mud Lake, Nev. Without the ability to dump fuel, the aircraft was heavy and the landing gear collapsed, rolling the aircraft onto its back. McKay received back injuries, but recovered to fly again. The aircraft was rebuilt and flew again with external fuel tanks to establish the unofficial world speed record.

On Nov. 17, 1967, Air Force pilot Mike Adams was flying X-15 No. 3 on a research flight and had reached an altitude of 266,000 ft and a speed of 3,570 mph when the aircraft when into a spin. Adams recovered from the spin but could not get out of the inverted dive. He died when the aircraft crashed northeast of Johannesburg, Calif. It was the only fatality and aircraft loss in the program.

No i would say that if the New Jerusalem is 1500 mile high, that the dome is higher than that. And 266,000 is only 50 miles high so juts a regular ole crash?

Okay, but isn't the New Jerusalem part of the new heavens and new earth? The current world might have a lower ceiling. I haven't heard any credible accounts of anyone going higher than this fellow, have you?

I am not sure about, really how high these people are going, but if this person did go to 266,000 ft that is still only 50 miles high. I am sure the dome would be higher than that.

What about the idea that the ionosphere is the firmament?

And the 'elves and sprites' indicate the lower bounds? If they really exist!

Well all i know is from Genesis 1 that the first heaven is the raqia, that is separating waters from waters and that is the location of the sun, moon and stars. Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. God set them in the raqia of the heavens to give light on the earth,

Now how high are these three created lights from earth i do not know or how high is the ceiling of the raqia.

It's somewhere between 100km and 5,000km, from what I can tell - but really just speculation!

Right i just believe that is something God just does not care about us knowing now or worrying about.

It really has only become a topic of discussion because science has presented these lies about God creation and given all this false distances, etc.. So in a way, maybe believers feel they need to counter sciences lies with truth. But if we go beyond what is in The Bible, we may open our own selves up to not actual facts.

So i kind of see exploring distances of these great lights as kind of also putting believers into a position of like the Tower of Babel. Where we are trying to go beyond, where God wants us to go.

“Who is this who darkens counsel
By words without knowledge?
Now prepare yourself like a man;
I will question you, and you shall answer Me.

You're right, it's all for God's glory and beyond our ken.

I'd also rather not have had to waste countless hours studying rubbish in a vain effort to persuade the fool, when I could have been immersing myself in the riches of scripture! Straight Gospel truth is always the best policy.

There are the tracks that the lunar rover made and other objects left behind, that are visible through powerful telescopes - and have been photographed (below)

So that for me is pretty strong evidence that yes we have actually been to the moon.

I believe so. But at the same time I find it a bit odd that it seems it was only possible to do over 50 years ago, and no one has been able to do since then.
No one has tried, because Saturn V and all the Apolloa project stuff was strictly stone knives and bear skins, hopelessly obsolete by today's standards. Same reason that now no one tries to fly the Atlantic in a Ryan monoplane.

The waters above are something called rain. At that time they didn't understand how water on Earth evaporated into clouds that contain rain. They just knew water came from the "heavens" Your delusion is debunked

That's the point I was making. It could be done multiple times with stone knives and bear skins, but for modern technology it's a no go. Basically, sure the Atlantic could be flown in a Ryan monoplane, but not in today's modern jets. Or in jets from 20-30 years ago.

Current work safety laws prohibit it. It's just like tradesmen having to use platform ladders everywhere now. We can no longer get our upper body into the ceiling space because the hand rail on the platform ladder tall enough would damage the ceiling.

Unless you use a telescope to look at the moon. Then you can see the surface is similar to the earth in many ways. The sun is a gas ball so it has no surface to look at. But the moon is rich in material details. The moon has no light from inside it. Without sun shining on it, it doesn't even glow. But when it is in the sky, it does light up the night.

I can recognize when someone I usually disagree with is right - and this is one of those times. Bravo.
