The quotes are often the same as those of the four books. And why would a theologian quote that which made them of no purpose?
That is kind of delving into conspiracy theory.

That would mean every early church father was trying to suppress the Gnostic sayings in the supposed gospel of Thomas.

Nice research project showing what the sub and post apostolic fathers quoted in their writings.

If you are trying to build a religion then obviously it would be wise to ignore that which eliminated the middle man. The suggestion is there in the four books canonized but less obvious. Theology which is nothing more than religious philosophy, was able to divert a direct relationship between man and God into the need for a religion, institution and clergy.

And you see the gospel account attributed to Thomas as a key pillar in suppressing this relationship?

No, just another example of where oneness with God was suppressed in order for man to build yet another one of his earthly kingdoms.

There is not enough of this message in the canonical Scriptures?

How often do you hear it preached we are one with God and not separate?
Please explain this. It is manifest in Scriptures Christ abides in us and we in Him. The Scriptures testify that all things are in, through and with The Person of Christ Jesus.

There is nothing which states we are of the same substance and become God. Perhaps the Gnostics believed that but it is not evident from the NT Scriptures.
