When a proud group of humiliated priest convert secular history into a miraculous fiction then other cultures around the world might eventually notice certain self important inconsistencies.
"breath of life" is understood to mean all life
Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died.

Young's Literal Translation
all in whose nostrils is breath of a living spirit -- of all that is in the dry land -- have died.
You are only fooling yourself, honest people can see your self delusion and dishonesty.
The waters rose and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water. 19 They rose greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered 20 The waters rose and covered the mountains to a depth of more than fifteen cubits. 21 Every living thing that moved on land perished—birds, livestock, wild animals, all the creatures that swarm over the earth, and all mankind. 22 Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died. 23 Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out; people and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.
Still fooling yourself, plants, trees and fresh water fish don't do well in a toxic, salt water submergence for a year.Insects were not known to breath nor were nostrils considered universal.
Breath of life is a very specific group of nature, not including fish for example.
Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.
Its clear that all life except that on the ark would perish. Then you have no concerns.
Young's Literal Translation
all in whose nostrils is breath of a living spirit -- of all that is in the dry land -- have died.
You don't really thing that insect nostrils have breath of a living spirit in them, do you?
And fish. And all plants. And insects. And the ground with plants thriving, that Noah released birds to find.
Likely with other life around it.
Floating islands do indeed exist on six of the seven continents; they may have trees growing upon them, be hundreds of meters across, and support the weight of humans living upon them and even of cattle grazing upon them. - See more at: http://www.ancient-origins.net/myth...nd-reality-part-2-001931#sthash.jr5HoI33.dpuf

Maybe China and Australia and North and South America and every other old earth continent was floating to!!!! Hey, now we are getting somewhere! You don't believe the story as it is written, you cherry picked it to give your self a politicians escape hatch.

It was in the writing. It all fits together seamlessly:
11The dove came to him toward evening, and behold, in her beak was a freshly picked olive leaf.
So Noah knew that the water was abated from the earth.
So, if there are Olive vines "out there", then there was other life was out there as well.
So, therefore, "breath of life in nostrils with Spirit" is a sub-set of all life and not the
Sunday school idea of all life. Scripture explains scripture seamlessly.
I realise that this is new to you.
"Everything on earth will perish." God "breathed life" into all living things. It's a metaphor for creation. The dirt didn't have nostrils.![]()
Everything on earth will perish." <----in the scripture.
