Dear PS, Not really. The account in Mat 1:16 is the lineage to Joseph. The account in Luk 3:23 is the lineage of Joseph, who was the son IN LAW of Heli, which means that it leads to Mary. IOW, BOTH Joseph and Mary can be traced back to David. God Blesss you.

More to the point, the gospels are bioi. The gospel writers are using geneology to make a theological claim that Jesus is from the line of David / Judah in order to imply that Jesus is the (partial) fulfilment of the Davidic covenant.

They aren't two separate histories. That would be a fairly ignorant cursory reading of the text.

You already proved to me that you are capable of answering a question, if you choose to do so, with a minimal of intellectual honesty by saying, "I don't know," if you actually don't know the answer. Attempts to turn it back on the other person in some fashion with strawmen, ad homs, etc ... speaks to projecting and/or internet trolling. Instead of detailing out where you used strawmen, fallacious ad homs, and projecting ... I left it for you to discover for yourself. You are correct. The specific fruit is not mentioned.

Other parts of the bible mention an apple, like in the Song of
Solomon. The idea of an apple seems to be based on tradition.

I thought the specific fruit was "knowledge of good and evil". IOW, THAT was the fruit. It wasn't an apple, or pomegranate, or mango ... because it wasn't an apple tree, pomegranate tree, nor mango tree. It was the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. But that aside ...

After they ate it, apparently they could have eaten from the Tree of Life and lived forever. Thus, when they were told they would die in the day they ate it ... they could still have lived forever by eating from this other tree, which was only in the Garden apparently. And the first death, in the way that most people recognize "death", came from Cain murdering Abel.

So the idea of Adam and Eve needing to eat food in order to stay alive and not die ... the idea is there in the story that they would also have needed to eat from the Tree of Life in order to live *forever*.

I did and there is no answer just as there's no answer to these questions, was the boy with his finger in the hole in the dyke wearing shoes or boots? was the boy who cried wolf fair or dark? they're from stories just like the bible stories and were meant to convey messages and nothing more..
