Appearance: There is nothing particularly special about Desmond. He's not overly handsome nor is he unabashedly ugly; he's not short nor is he taller than most; he's not wiry and thin nor brawny and athletic. His skin is a natural tan. He has a strong, roman nose; fuller lips; and oval eyes set in a chocolate brown. His eyebrows are thick, a deep black that matches his hair, which is a thick mop on top of his head with strands along his brow, ears, and hanging down his collar. His main weapon of choice is a scimitar sheathed around his waist at most times.
Personality: While Desmond is often chivalrous, it's mostly due to his background and is hardly done out of any deep desire of his own. He can be kind and caring when he wants to be, certainly, but those are traits he rarely shows with passion. More often than not, he's just seen as...distant though not at all cruel or hateful. He's highly educated in the ways of the world, in business and politics, as well as polite mannerisms, yet he holds no such common knowledge for close relations. He does his duties and he does them well, with honor and loyalty. Being the youngest of the throne sons, his opinion is seldom vital and he's often sent out to do the "dirty work". But he's learned to accept it, much as he merely accepts everything else.
Background: Desmond is the youngest son of King Thaddeus in Mych, the last to be born out of four sons to the King's third wife, Edaline. Aside from his three blood brothers, he also has two blood sisters, and thirteen half-blood brothers and sisters from his father's other two wives. The youngest of all of them is Anna, the half-sister Desmond has taken an oath to protect during these harsh times.
However, his main position as a princeling is more or less to serve. Contrary to popular belief of what most would consider a royal's position of luxury is with everything handed to them on a silver platter, his life is solely about honoring others. He's first to enter in battle and the last to come out, he eats only after all his men have been fed, and is bound to refuse medical treatment until others have been given their share.
