We live in a dry Southwestern desert region but are moving to the Southeast. I have the cutest little desert fairy garden in a big pot outside. Can I take it with me to the humid Southeast?

It took me three years to stop trying to grow the wrong plants here (not a quitter, lol) and now we are moving. :swoon:I don't want to make the same mistake in reverse. Thanks!

What plants are they because some might do well but others may not?

I didnt pay attention to their names. I kind of thought they wouldn't make it like the rest.

Well, if there is any hope, I'll probably try to bring them and make them house plants I don't water for long periods of time.
The humidity probably wouldn't hurt them but it may rain too much for these plants if left without cover such as a covered patio or porch.

I live in an East Coast state, and I have three succulents as house plants (an aloe, a jade plant, and a cactus). They're quite happy; the cactus has grown enthusiastically in its 40 years of life with me. I'd say to bring your desert garden with you, and, as you say, water it sparingly.

I have flowering cactus outside but my large jade wouldn't survive the winter outside here in the Rockies.

40 years! Wow! I knew cacti could live a long time but I had not heard of people caring for them that long. Thanks for letting me know about your success.

I live in Florida and grow a lot of succulents. I keep many of them on a porch to protect them from the rainfall. Humidity doesn’t seem to bother them. I just watch them for when to water, and some actually need a light shade. Some are in full sun of southern exposure, just under a roof.
