• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together.   • Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private.   • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm glad you're back on them, Tsuriyel. :hug: I understand why you don't want to be reliant on meds, but ... my boyfriend told me, when I was struggling with the same thing, that meds are the kick-start to recovery, and that kick-starts can take awhile. But don't lose patience or hope. :) :hug: I'm just glad that you've got the meds when you need them, and that they do in fact help you. That itself is a huge blessing!

Not too bad thanx, happy coz uni are letting me retake 2 exams i failed as first sittings next year so i still get to graduate, coz normally, if u fail the final year , my uni dont let u back, they're quite strict, but theyve been nice, and taken my depression into consideration, woohoo! :) :clap: Just received the email letting me know, bout an hour ago. I just put a crazily long post on an old prayer requests thread hehe.

Aww that's great to hear :hug::hug: I'm so glad. :)

I'm not doing too well at the moment. My head's a muddle. There's that whole deal with me being admitted into residential/partial, for I don't know how long, and I find out for sure tomorrow. I'm a ball of nerves really!! Any little thing could set me off, and then...BOOM :p

Feeling bit low today.

I was just wondering if many people on here go to counselling, and does it help you work through your problems? I went for a bit near the beginning, but considering going back. I'm holding on at the moment, but I'm just not motivated right now to get a job (which i really need)! My confidence is terrible.

I just got scared before thinking, what if i don't get better? What if this is to be my life from now on?! (it started sept 2004).

:hug: Judy. Yeh I'm in counseling, but I haven't gone for several weeks because I've been away, blah blah blah. It's helped me a bit but not as much as I'd like, probably because it's only once a week - not intensive enough. I can forget about all the stuff we've talked about between sessions.

You will get better. :hug: I've been depressed for going on four years now, but ... things will look up. Eventually. It will take time and strength on your part, but "keep your face to the sunshine, and you will never see the shadows" (Helen Keller). I know it's hard, but you're an amazing and lovely person, and I know you can conquer this with help. :) :hug:
