• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Depression fighting....

Hi. I guess I'm in this forum because I've recently been struggling with depressions a lot. I don't really understand. I've got a history of bipolar disorder and this really aggrevates things for me. Lately it seems as if everything is just balling up and avalanching upon me or something. Out of 3 days, I've had a crying breakdown for two in a row and in one of them I was trying to simply trying to figure out what life was all about and that if crying and being sad is what life was all about, I didn't care to be a part of it. I wasn't really suicidal, I was just sick of this world spinning around without me as a part. I was sick of everything going past me. It's been a lot of cicumstancial things. I'm not sure why I'm posting this. Maybe God has a reason. Maybe I'm looking for understanding and support. Maybe answers. I don't know. God will show me at some point I'm hoping. Thank you for reading this.

“My plan for your future
has always been filled with hope.”

Jeremiah 29:11
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (NIV Bible)

We live in a world that sometimes seems void of hope. Wars, famine, pollution, recessions, etc. can cause us to become easily discouraged when we look at the prospects of our future. Discouragement can lead to depression, and depression can lead to hopelessness.

When we are feeling hopeless, we see our circumstances and surroundings through a filtered lens that can cause us to continue to spiral downwards in our emotions and our attitudes. In this week’s devotional scripture, God says that He has a plan for you, a plan that will prosper you and not to harm you, a plan that will give you hope and a future.

While the economy may be saying one thing to us, God is saying another. While your circumstances may cry out hopelessness, God is saying that He has a plan to prosper and not to harm you. While we don’t know what the future does hold, we know who holds the future. We can trust in the goodness of God to care for us in the midst of situations that seem hopeless.

Our hope is not in our circumstances, but in God our Father. That does not necessarily mean that life will always turn out the way we expected, but it does mean that we can always trust in our Father to love us and watch over us. If we commit our lives into His care, we are guaranteed from an everlasting perspective, that we will have an incredible future filled with hope awaiting us, that will last forever.

PRAYER

Father, I thank You that You have a plan for me that is filled with hope and a future. I know that You have plans to prosper me and not to harm me. I need not fear and I need not despair for you are in control of my life. Help me to commit my life to You, trusting in Your faithfulness to accomplish all that You have promised to do. In the name of Your beloved Son, Jesus, I pray. AMEN.

*hugs* hope this helped a lil bit !!! :)
a bit of what I often have to get again is that God's bigger than absolutely everything & despite all obstacles & circumstances .. no fear or pain or heaven, hell, angels... (Romans 8/31....)can divide You from His love through Jesus :)

read this in someone's sig sometime ago: Don't tell God how big the storm is (I mean sure ask Him for help & everything & tell Him how you feel :)),
tell the storm how big God is :)

God Bless you sista
