If you are referring to my avatar or profile picture, those are not my characters. Those are from other works. My user name is a character's name, but not the picture next to it.

You certaintly have a point about that. Have you published anything? I would Love to see your work... Anything that helps us "get by" is a good thing too. It's one escape that will always be there when we need it. We have to cling to whatever drives us.

Yes, I agree that it acts as a release that allows me to get by. I haven't published anything, and at the current time I don't show my work to people. I may one day try to publish, but graphic novels take a long time to make and I won't publish unless I know I can complete it. The problem with a graphic novel is that it takes a lot of work to make even a medium-length story because each scene has to be drawn instead of just told. Most famous graphic novels are either written by a team of people, or are written by one person who works full time over many years. Since my art is a side-hobby to school and work, I make very slow progress on it. Ideally it would be nice to get the story out in a form that others can read, but that won't occur soon.

Penumbra, an idea to make some extra bucks. Go to street fairs, oktoberfests, renfairs and such and either do straight up pencil or charcoal portraits or caricatures. I treasure the one done at a renfair of my two girls.

Ya... I'm not so sure I'd show my story to anyone myself, maybe my sister when it's done. I guess I didn't figure on the details when I'd asked you. Even a tiny bitty comic strip takes forever. I made a up a 6 block comic strip recently that was kinda funny. Graphic novels you need more talent for though so you're most likely gifted. cool
