  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Depressing musical suggestions...please help!

Just a couple thoughts:

Agalloch - A Desolation Song
Agalloch - You Were But A Ghost In My Arms
My Dying Bride - My Hope The Destroyer
Thorns of the Carrion - (any)
Evoken - Curse the Sunrise

Y'know, on another forum I posted this topic at, someone recommended "A Desolation Song" and "My Hope The Destroyer".

Linkin Park - Hybrid theory(album)
The song by that bald Irish chick

Yeah, I have both of Linkin Park's standard albums, and I have that Sinead O'Connor song also. I dunno why I didn't think of "Nothing Compares 2 U" before now but thanks for reminding me.

Also check out Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right" and "It Ain't Me, Babe." Great break up songs.
I agree completely.

Also check out "Black" by Pearl Jam, "You" by Candlebox, and "Would?" by Alice in Chains.

I have all three of those also. I'm really starting to feel totally oblivious to the music I have already, since I'm forgetting about so much of it and how fitting it is.

Alice In Chains is you want something heavy. "Would" is my fav. though Angry Chair, Down In A Hole, Rooster...all work.

Julian AUstin - "What My Heart Already Knows" "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad" if you like country...hell ya sohuld like those two even if you don't like ocountry they're so good!

U2 "A Sort of Homecoming"

Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here" "Comfortably Numb" "Us & Them"

Nirvana MTV Unplugged "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" "Something In The Way" (both GREAT songs!)

NIN is pretty good break up stuff. the still album (or somthing like that, my ex burned it for me, so not sure) is great for that, more soft, lulling tracks.

Low was a band that i turned to when i was super depressed. really slow stuff that is melancholic and beautiful. makes you want to become embryonic again....
