Big deal. The point is they have escaped just punishment that US citizens and legal residents have to endure. If I go to another state and am arrested for commiting a crime there, the authorities are not going to say, "Oh, he is not a resident of this state, let's just send him back to where he came from."
no but if it costs 10,000s to incarcerate someone and then you have to deport them is it not a LOT cheaper to just deport them?

Which one could agrue you had the due proccess when you committed the crime that got you sentenced. After all if you were not here legally at the time of your incarceration nothing will change while you are incarcerated more than likely.
The due process continues after the person has finished their sentence.

What make you think they have not been productive members of society?
The decades of generational fraud. Teaching your children to commit fraud.

There are reasons one may not wish to become a US citizen that is likely why we offer renewal of green cards every ten years if someone wishes.
The example that I was responding to was about illegal aliens - not LPRs.

You can't believe everything Trump says while campaiging. His remark was more likely to put some scare/fear into immigrant gangs to STOP their criminal behavior or face deportation; which is a REAL possibility.

Many of the children don’t even know they are here illegally and by the time they figure it out, this country and culture is all they have ever known. How are the parents teaching fraud if the children don’t even know about it?

Well, his choices so far, such as Homan, seem to say he is going to do something about it.

They aren't using stolen SSN to get jobs? 18-20 years in? Or they don't understand why they can only get paid under the table?

I don't know if you are giving them too much or too little credit here.

Sure my opinion essentially doesn't count but....

I would be 100% on board with deporting ANYONE convicted of violent crimes 100% and, assuming that countries of origin can provide all the appropriate (and needed) extridition paperwork, I'd be 100% on board with them being returned too.

Stephen Miller has been talking about "Denaturalizing Citizens"....that is totally messed up if you ask me and I cannot support that.

Well you can only do that with certain citizens anyway.

After spending their childhood here oblivious. At some point they do find out, usually when time to get a job. Now they do what they need to do to survive with an undocumented status.

Thank you for finally agreeing with me. Was that so hard?

In my experience, NYC might not have a single Uber driver without immigrants ...
So, as long as we use the immigrants as instruments toward our own ends then the more the merrier?

When my daughter was in school she was a server in a Mexican restaurant. One of her co-workers was undocumented. She used her cousin's name and social security #, but her cousin wound up having to pay the price at tax time--with two jobs, two W2's. etc.

I never paid that much attention, but I'm sure that the cousin who worked with my daughter had to do something to compensate the girl with the extra taxes.
As Shakespeare wrote, "Oh what a tangled web we weave/When first we practice to deceive".
