Defining sola scriptura.

I believe the Holy Bible is a very Holy Book because it contains the inerrant Word of God, but, it is a book nonetheless, nowhere in the Bible does it say anything remotely indicating that written words self-interpret. The very concept is nonsensical.

Of course, He left no denomination as such.

And He never said that a teacher among us (a specific individual church, denomination, sect, cult) IS the truth or is exempt from the truth if the self same alone insists that the self same individually is. Only that the whole corpus of the church is to UPHOLD (pillar) and SUPPORT (foundation) the truth. Not one denomination exempt self uniquely and individually from such.

but thanks again for confirming why the RCC so passionately protests this practice (see post # 11, the section: "Why Does the RC Denomination so Passionately Protest This Practice?"). You and the other Catholics have been eager to confirm that part of the post, too. And I appreciate that.

I'm sure that a lot of people, particularly those who belong to denominations that treat themselves as the only legitimate expression of Christ's movement, think that when "church" appears in scripture, it's referring to a club of disciples or a structure that we'd call a denomination these days. That's unfortunate, but the word does get used in a variety of ways, so I understand. However, when they alter the verse to make it "fit," that's something else. By any translation, the verse says that the reference is to the "House" or "Household" of God, i.e. the people, not to the club.

When did Jesus say more than "one church''? Jesus only commanded His Apostles/Successors with His power of Authority as in Luke 10:16, Matt.16;16-18, Matt.28:18-20, 2Peter 1:20, 1Tim.3: 14, everything pertaining to a church beit implicitly or explicitly indicates that one Church Jesus founded was Apostolic as in any Catholic/Apostolic church. Now, you Bible Alone advocates can start to show the verses that support your individual churches from your Bibles along with all your conflicting doctrines.

To answer your question tho, no the bible is not God. We have God the father, God the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

The Holy ghost is our teacher of what is what concerning the word of God.

What I am saying is the Word of God is God, and manifest in the flesh as Jesus, who is also God. This may sound confusing but is actually quite simple. Jesus is the word of God in the flesh, which means all that he did and spoke is the word of God. Since both Christ, and the word are God, both are equally perfect, without flaw, without sin, then only God the spirit can reveal the truths about his own word. Because only God is sinless and perfect as his word, and/or Christ.

God is the only one qualified to explain himself.

I think the thing is, I do not hold to any religion. I confess Jesus Christ as the one true God, and I ask for my understanding as commanded to in the bible. If any, any, of my belief systems oppose the word of God, it must immediately be shot in the head like a zombie, and left to rot so it doesn't bite someone else. I wouldn't even consider to judge God, and expect him to conform to my own belief systems.

Jesus is a stumbling block, and the word of God can not be understood by the carnally minded. Which means they stub a lot of toes. Also, Christianity is about self abasement, and mortification of the flesh. I do not see where there is room to draw lines with God in what will and will not be accepted as His truth, by us, His creation. We need to ask the only one who knows the answers.

Sorry, I'm having a difficult time discerning whether your asking if I think scripture interprets scripture or the bible is God.

At any rate, I'm Catholic and Catholics don't believe either of those.
