Not one mentioned if they even owned a weapon - not one. So I'll ask you to substantiate your claim. To whom is the bolded accusation addressing and what proof do you have of the accuracy of the accusation.

If you can substantiate the accusation, then it may be harsh, but accurate. If the accusation cannot be substantiated then not only is it harsh, but could most likely be a false accusation against a Brother or Sister in Christ.

I find the above testimony to be suspect (hey, if we're going to play court on an Internet forum with strangers, might as well do it with gusto), because I've posted in this thread and my name doesn't appear anywhere on either list. But FTR, I do not own a weapon.

We can't pick and choose which verses to give consideration to view and which verses to ignore because they fly in the face of a belief.

We have to have the WHOLE council of the Word of God and the Divine wisdom to follow His leading. Even if it bothers our doctrines

I do not own a handgun, no. I do own a hunting bow though and I used to own a Remington 870 Express 12 gauge shotgun for hunting, but that was left in Upstate, NY when I left 7 years ago. I'm not sure what has happened to it since then.

I would love to own a crossbow for target shooting or hunting. Also figured that my wife, if she wanted to join in on shooting targets, would have a much easier time with a crossbow than a regular bow.

Oh and also be ready for the Zombie apocalypse and be like Daryl in The Walking Dead. Silence is golden when dealing with zombies... lol.

Well all right. I thought maybe you'd restate it out of common courtesy, but hey, I'll scroll back and look...

So your "point" seems to be that there is not enough imperial [sic] evidence for Alithis to substantiate his accusation that, "they display the true heart motive of owning the hand gun, they own it because they desire to use it, they desire in their heart opportunity to justifiably kill", nor can he prove that most people don't seek God before purchasing a gun. Since that's his opinion and viewpoint, I'm not sure exactly how you would want me to "address" that "point". Seems to me the only one that can address it is Alithis, since he's the one that made the statements.

I will say that I think all of us, myself included, are guilty of doing things without seeking God first at times and fooling ourselves into thinking that we're just following after God when in reality we're just doing our own thing. From that general perspective, I believe Alithis has a valid point.

Can you just imagine little David walking up to Goliath with a gun? The story would be so utterly meaningless. We'd all be talking about gangsta David popping a cap in Golitath's noggin...

David was outmatched in every way physically but still killed Goliath with a sling and a stone. How? Because God, not a gun, was with him. Even though he was physically incapable of defeating Goliath in the natural, God was with him and made the impossible possible.

Lol its not an acusation of or at any one.
But it is of interest how some run to defend their fleshly rights.
when folks post on topics which goad my conscience i take it to the lord.i see no point in runing to defend.if i must defend i will defend my right to have faith in the lord jesus and learn to walk in obedience to his Holy Spirit in all things.

as i say so often. If you want to find out what is being idolized in a persons life..shake the shelf they sit it on and see how fast they run to protect it. Action speak very loud indeed.
by the way..i stated no one (but2) has testified that the sought the lords council before buying a gun (& exclude those in military for whom a gun is tool of trade) so youve sort of misrepresented my words ..and why attack "me" ..if in what you do you have a clear consciene beford the lord...whats the issue!

where it says David slew thousands, was not about the Goliath story, he cut people up with a weapon, commonly known as a sword! If he had an AR, he would have used it, and AR is an assault rifle!

Can you show me where God told him to get the stones? I wonder if he was doing what he thought was "guilty of doing things without seeking God first at times and fooling ourselves into thinking that we're just following after God when in reality we're just doing our own thing." Don't see God tell him anywhere to get stones. Argue the point if you must, unfortunately that's the nature of forums.

Some guy stood and killed so many his hand was locked onto the sword then some other guy defended a lentils field. Don't see him asking God if he should use a sword for lentils, and IMO lentils are evil, so saving them serves no purpose.
