Deeper Fellowship member intro and Guidelines for posting

Hello Everyone!!! My name is Rich & I am fairly new to CF (June 3rd). I counsel drug addicts in Knoxville, TN. (Hence the name CounselorRich). I am originally from Ticonderoga, NY. My faith in God has sustained me through many difficult times & I have found peace--knowing that God is with me always. Being out in the beautiful nature around me is where I tend to pray the best--so I walk almost everyday & when life really gets tough--I walk alot further & that usually means a trip to the Smoky Mountains where I really get the chance to "talk to the Boss" as I often put it. God has a way of using His magnificent creation to soothe me & help me to "figure things out". I am a guitarist & Leader of Song at Church & I also sing in the "Sweet Spirit Choir" at Church. Music has been another source of comfort for me over the years.
I look forward to hanging around this forum & meeting new people. I have already been in regular communication with a CF member from Ireland & one from China. So I love the fact that I get to talk to people from all over the world--as well as right here in the U.S.A.

Every day I'm on some of the most beautiful trails that BC Canada has, with my old dog, who is literly on his last legs and my little pup, who is just a lovable nuisance, but great company. I am also fairly new here at CF and am thrilled to find this section - I just want a place to praise Jesus and all of His blessings to me and others! I found CF when looking for comfort in grieving my stepson (see blog) and have found that and so much more here!

Introducing my new username. Originally it was Citizen of the Kingdom-then livinforChrist-then MaidInHisImage-and now hawlak. My name has changed but my profile remains the same.


I love change! That's what makes the characters and armour so much fun. A slight nuance in my feelings about my walk with God occasions a change and hawlak is the phonics spelling of an Arabiac word meaning "my walk,His Way" and hence the change of username.


I would also like to take this moment to make amends with anyone I may have offended in the past, trusting the Spirit to refresh anew each morning. God bless your day, everyone!

I've been on CF for just a month now. This fellowship draws me, and I'm delighted to discover it. As a Convergence Christian, my spirituality is based in the beliefs and practices of the early church, and the Celtic Church.

There is truth in every "stream" of the church, and we need each other. I look forward to sharing our common pilgrimage Home with brothers and sisters from every expression of the Church.

Not really new to the board but this area. i have been away a long time (spiritually and physically) but in the past 2 years my faith has grown. I love this idea of a place i can come to where i can worship him for who he is and what he has done for me. It amazes me everyday and i will never understand it but he saved me and he loves me and i see it in everything he does for me. Thank you for this place to write it all down.

Hello Everyone ,

A quick bit about myself. I was raised, schooled & confirmed Catholic, but left the church in early adulthood. After my mother passed away in 1997 I started attending a Lutheran Church(LCMS) as that was the religion she was raised in, and we discussed many things about faith before she passed (she "converted" to Catholicism when she married my father, but I don't think she really bought into everything in the church - I know she didn't go to confession! I do know that she respected the Catholic Church in the way that she never contradicted anything I was being taught -- and I still respect the Catholic Church for it gave me a solid foundation to build my faith on).

I was very happy with the Lutheran Church I attended, and I will forever be grateful for the Pastor's love and acceptance of myself and my family into the church. I was also very active in the choir, and volunteering in the church (we attended for about 2 years). I am also happy to say that after the birth of our 4th child, all of our children were baptized in that church.

My family went through some very hard times post 9/11, and due to moving, and other problems with a few people in the church (but not related to religion) my family stopped attending church. I never stopped praying and searching for God in my life, though.

Just last week I prayed the "sinner's prayer" earnestly and I feel I am now SAVED -- no doubts anymore!!! I used to think being "born-again" was a bunch of hooey, but I apologize to all those I may have unknowingly offended because I now understand what is meant by the term. I feel a closeness with Jesus and God I have not felt since I was a young child, despite longing for it always, and boy does it feel good to have it back again!!!

I am currently searching for a church, as we are 1,000+ miles from our old one. I still believe in what I was taught through the Lutheran Church, but in my looking at churches in my area have found that most Lutheran churches here don't celebrate Eucharist/Communion every week, and it has me a little baffled -- a topic for a separate thread! LOL

Anyway, I would like to participate in this sub-forum because as I said I still believe in Lutheran doctrine, but may attend a different church in the future depending on what my search in this geographical area brings... I hope that makes sense! LOL

Well, I guess that's all for now -- I tend to write lengthy posts and responses, so I hope that's alright here as well! Thanks to all those who took the time to read this one!

I'm looking forward to "meeting" all of you who participate on this board, and I'm especially looking forward to fellowship with other believers!

Hello I have been lurking over this forum for a bit now, and really wanted to be able to start posting. Fellowship is wonderful and it seems that on this part of CF the Lord is lifted here...there isn't the negative energy that can be found on other places on CF. About me, 33, married(unsaved husband),Christian for six years, searching for a new church and really working on deepening my relationship with God.
