I think this is a very interesting topic, a prophecy from the Mayan's.. What are your thoughts about this?

Well, I thouth one of the desk-top organizers that I had once went way overboard by having several pages devoter to a few paged to a fifty year callender. But that is nothing compaired to the Myans.

This end of cycle for the Myan callander as nothing more than the mellenium turnover of our callender. Kinda cool to say one saw it but nothing to get exited over.

I don't understand humanity's obsession with the destruction of the world. You'd think that after 500th time it didn't occur people would get bored and move on to something else.

It's nothing. The Mayans lived hundreds of years ago and they couldn't imagine time going beyond the 21st century. Nothing unusual.

  Wow, and most of the world had no imagination before someone came up with the zero.

   Duane, has it ever occured to you to research the Mayan calender? Or, even more central, their numbering system?

Yup, 12-21 is my birthday.
I have never gotten into their numbering system. I have read a bit about the Mayan's and the calander, but I have never gone much into it.

   Why do you have the urge to denigrate others understanding when you freely admit you're ignorant of the subject yourself?

  You stated: "You have no imagination, Sky. They had plenty." How do you know? You just admitted you know nothing of them, their calendar, or their numbering system.

I did not say I knew nothing about them. Just that I do not have in depth knowledge of them.
Sky is the one that said they could not imagine, not me.
What makes her so sure?

People living thousands of years ago had little understanding of science or how things work, so I find it hard to believe that they could imagine that far into the future.

I thought you said the Egyptians built the Great Pyramid thousands of years ago.
Now how did they build such a structure if they had such little understanding of science or of how things work?

And as far as the Mayan's understanding, they got all the way to 12-21-2012. Why can't they imagine a 2013? or 2014?
Just too far beyond them?
