Even if they get the math wrong that does not mean the whole theory is wrong.
It is all part of the evolutionary theory, if the evolutionary scientists age of the earth/universe is wrong, the theory is wrong or false. That is why the use of billions of years are added to the theory(ad hoc). We see this in 1913 when Arthur Holmes(a British geologist) wrote that the earth was 100 Ma or 100 million years old(with the use of radiometric dating of minerals), in 1927 the figure skyrocketed to 3000 Ma or 3 billion years old, and in the 1940's it skyrocketed again to 4500 Ma or 4.5 billion years old. According to evolutionary scientist the earth aged 4.4 billion years in 30 years. Have a blessed day. You may read about A. Holmes at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Holmes

There are lots of ways to verify the age of the earth. I do not see what difference it makes what age the earth is. If you want to deny the age of the earth then you have to deny science, not just the theory of evolution. I do not know how people that can barely pass their high school science requirement yet they think they know more about science then a PhD that has studied the subject for 8 years. It would be sort of like going to a doctor and thinking you know more about medicine then he does.

And exactly how is the age of the earth/universe verified? Do you not see the difference in what the word of God tells us, and what evolution(those who take God out of everything) says? Do you know how Creationist determine the age of the earth/universe? If not, it's by tracing the lineage from Adam to Jesus Christ, and this can be done by using God's word (Bible):
*****************************************************************
* *
* SUMMARY OF THE TIME FROM ADAM TO JESUS *
* *
* Adam to Abraham .................. 1948 yrs *
* Abraham to Egypt ................. 290 yrs *
* *
* From Egypt to Moses: (X) Let X = 63 63 yrs *
* *
* X = (Kohath to Amram to Moses) *
* *
* Moses to the Exodus .............. 80 yrs *
* Exodus to death Joshua ........... 70 yrs *
* Judges to Samuel ................. 450 yrs (Acts 13:20) *
* Kings of Judah ................... 513 yrs *
* Babylonian Captivity ............. 586 B.C.E. *
* --------------- *
* Adam to Jesus 4000 yrs *
So, according to God's word Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour came when the earth/universe was 4,000 years old, it has been 2,000 years since Jesus Christ, so one would conclude that the earth/universe is only 6,000 years old. Millions/Billions of years is a fallacy invented by the Babylonians(Enuma elish-the Babylonians religious text) to take God out of the equation of how we are here, it was here long before Charles Darwin. Have a blessed day.

Look at a globe. It is as obvious as can be that South America sits under Africa like a hand in a glove. Likewise Africa and the island of Madagascar, off of its east coast.
If you rotate Africa by 40 degrees it looks that way. But, we know that looks can be deceiving.

There is no need to rotate Africa at all. On a flat map the fit looks approximate. On a globe (which is what the Earth is) it looks exact.

Yes, Adam and Eve lived 6,000 years ago in the Garden of Eden. We can verify that with science. That has nothing to do with what happened before Adam and Eve were in the Garden. For me a day in Genesis is 1,000 years and we can verify all of that with science. Still even though the age or era we live in began around 13,000 years ago, that does not mean that the earth is not 13 Billion years old. There is no reason for us to question Science. I just do not have any problem with one day being equal to 1 billion years.

According to evolutionary scientist the earth is only 4.5 billion years old, so yes, you do have a problem with it being 13 billion years old. God created the plants before the sun, and then the pollinators. Plants would have a very hard time growing without light for a thousand years, and it would have been another thousand years for the birds and the bees to pollinate them(according to what you believe). It was a literal 24 hour period of time "and the evening and the morning were the first day."

According to astrophysicists the universe is 13.8 billion years old, and according to geologists the Earth is 4.6 billion years old.

Yes Leslie, we know what the evolutionary scientist think are the ages of the earth and the universe. That is what we have been discussing. Please see post #81 to see how much the earth aged in just 30 years. The age of the earth just seems to get older and older, doesn't it. BYW- so does the age of the universe.

Now, you are starting to get the bigger picture. Have a blessed day, brother.

Estimates about the age of the Earth come from modern science, not the Babylonians, who were polytheists, had their own creation myth, and, like everybody else in the ancient world, they hadn't a clue how old the Earth was - assuming that they even asked themselves that question.

Post #81 is just wrong. Arthur Holmes dated a rock found in Norway as being 370 million years old. It was Lord Kelvin who made a calculation putting the age of the Earth at 100 million years, based upon the rate of the Earths cooling - not radiometric dating. When Kelvin made his calculation the heat released through radioactive decay wasn't known about, so his calculation was way out.

Yeah Leslie, their calculations are way out. But, some still want to believe them. I will believe God, over any man any day.

There is no reason whatsoever to believe that Holmes dating of the rock was wrong. In 1945 he published an estimate for the age of the Earth, which he put at 4.5 billion years. Not exactly a hundred miles removed from the currently accepted figure.
