  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

How do you think you'll die?

Me.. personally natural causes.. family history.. cancer.. cancer.. cancer.. heart attack.. and cancer.. lol.

Other causes.. wife goes insane and blows my head off with a shot gun. I get into a car crash. I fall down the stairs and break my neck. I choke on some food.

I'm going to die on September 3, 2031 from an exploding tanker truck burning my flesh off and flinging me into a passing combine harvester.

Or you know, sleep apnea.

Yeah, a psychic told me this was going to happen to you.

As for me I'd like to go the Sylvia Plath way.

I don't know, but if I'm ever in a position where the doctors are stringing me along and keeping me on life support, could one of you guys please pull the plug and put me out of my misery? I see no point to being alive if I'm just 'existing' - and in the most uncomfortable way possible.

Most people have a Death Wish of some kind. I don't think anyone believes what they profess to believe about the unknown or any "afterlife" idea. Not deep inside. They know deep inside that it is all just wishful thinking. A hope to make up for all the things that they missed out on in this life, which is what Paul seemed to be saying in some of his epistles.

The Christians in ancient Rome were obviously very willing to publicly profess a belief that went against the governing powers of their day, in order to be released from their misery. Whether that was in the form of lions or beheading. And they didn't have to call it suicide if they were all doing it together, somehow.

Who today would not want that type of death as opposed to a slow illness? Or, wouldn't most people rather get shot to death or die in a freak accident? Religious martyrdom was a nicer way of saying it than people just "getting what they wanted".

Stress induced health problems related to: Solo parenting, Working at the hospital, Loneliness, and Lack of purpose. Panic attack induced is starting to sound like a real possibility....

I actually sort of look forward to it though I wouldn't do anything to cause it intentionally. I hope whatever it is, it is fast...not something where I slowly decline and become helpless.

Seriously guy? This is nowhere near what the OP asked. You have to take every opportunity to preach your gospel don't you?

Personally, I do have a solid belief in an afterlife. I can't even imagine how anyone couldn't and feel sorry for the people who have to deal with grief with no hope.

Really, I don't think most people who don't have a belief in an afterlife have a death wish of any sort. I get to see them when they are facing death and are completely afraid of it...doing everything they can to pretend it won't eventually happen to them. Denial of death is a very big problem in the hospital. I constantly have to care for people who are "full code" knowing that if I ever had to do CPR on them, I would actually kill them painfully with that procedure.
