What are your thoughts concerning death? Where do we go? What do we do in an afterlife?

Death is the opposite of life. You are dead. You have no thoughts, you conscienceness, you dont go to the afterlife of what paganism and all that will tell you, you are just in the grave. Its like your sleeping, but without the dreams. You dont have a memory, nothing about you is working.

Hmm...I'm not too big a fan of death. I guess if things didn't die then the earth would get really crowded. Maybe death is a good thing.

My idea of the afterlife is an Ayn Rand dance party. You know, kind of like SNL's Janet Reno dance parties but with more capitalism and objectivism. It'll feature some wack mc's like Ayn herself, Adam Smith, John Keynes, and special appearances by John Galbraith and Milton Friedman.

I don't believe we "go" anywhere or have any sort of an afterlife.

The moment of death is the "The End" in the final chapter of the story of one's existence.

Life is where the action is. (Literally.) Life is one's existence. Life is where happiness may be achieved. Life is sacred.

We are temporal beings by nature, but by God's grace have been granted eternal life. For those who have accepted Christ's salvation from death, we will experience the goodness of God for eternity. For those who have rejected salvation, they will experience the goodness of God as an intollerable burning fire for all eternity. Think about what it would be like to be around a good Christian for a day and the anguish it would cause those who hate Christ and multiply that by 1,000,000. That is the only way I can describe that which remains a mystery to us.

There is no life after death.It makes about as much sense as life before birth.

There is no life until we are each created, so I don't see this as any contradiction to the fact that we exist forever by God's will after we are created. We are not inheritly eternal beings. We didn't exist before conception in our mother's womb.

The people who claim there is no existance after death have no proof. They will never have proof, because we do continue to exist after our bodies have stopped functioning.

At the end of the day, people will believe what they choose to believe (and that's often whatever they find most comfortable, for example believing there will be absolutely no consequences to whatever unrepented wrongs they do here on earth). There is no tangible proof one way or the other, and that is why Christians are called to have faith and trust in God that his word is true. We know what we know only through faith, and we are as certain of it as we are certain we exist.

With that said, after death your soul will go to one of two places for eternity--heaven or hell. Whether you go to heaven or hell does not depend on how you've spent your time on earth, or whether or not you were a "good person" or followed all of the ten commandments perfectly. It depends on one thing and one thing only--have you accepted Christ as your savior? If you have, then the Bible says you will go to heaven.

I believe God has revealed Himself to us. This is the basis for my belief in the life to come. Our discussion should really be about God, since He is the foundation upon which faith in eternal life is founded.

I believe there's an afterlife of some sort, but I'm not too concerned. I prefer to live my life as it is, and let the future sort itself out. And if it turns out there really isn't an afterlife... well, I won't care once I'm gone.

Well the bodies do continue to exist, although not in the same state they were before death.
