So one of the hardest things Ive found I need to do I'm my life is deal with frustration.

I would say that nothing causes me to mess up more than being frustrated for some reason or another. In my frustration ill so often do something I later regret and have to ask for forgiveness.

So simple question....how do you deal with frustration?

Count to ten... Asking God to give me understanding where the disconnect is.

I'll be honest. I've tried similar things and sometimes when I feel I get no reply I get even more frustrated.

There's that point of trying to trust God while also being at one of the harder times to do it.

We need to rely on Yahweh and His Word more. You know, find some Scriptures that are meaningful to you and think of Him and the Scripture when you're feeling frustrated. What about Exo 33:14 "And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest." Isa 26: 3Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. 4Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:" Phil 4:7 "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

Just keep reading and thinking on these until they become your reality.

There are two ways to deal with frustration, prevention and de-fusion.

Prevention. Frustration usually results from a conflict between expectation and reality. If we can learn to make our expectations more in line with reality we will get less frustrated. For example, why would I expect the person next to me on the freeway would not suddenly speed up so he can pull in front of me and then slow down.

Also, when time is short or stakes are high we find that we begin to expect that things will go right more than is warranted. Then when the inevitable happens, we are caught off guard.

De-fusion. Once we find ourselves already in a state of frustration, we need to work to translate the accumulated negative energy into constructive channels. One method is to hold a mental "Monday morning football meeting" where we ask ourselves, what went wrong, what should we have seen, what can we learn from this. Frustration is often aggravated when we see ourselves as victims and others as villains. When we can apply truth, it often helps to reduce frustration. We see an example of this in the Bible when we are told that Jesus looked at the people as sheep without a shepherd.

We we grow to be more like Jesus in truth and love, we grow in selflessness. As self diminishes, so does frustration.

Frustration, anger, bitterness, and similar, are all the fruit of the sinful nature, in us. And because they are the fruit of the sinful nature in us, therefore, when we let them control us, we sin.
That is why, the fruit of the Holy Spirit in us, the fruit of patience and self control, helps us to be more patients, and to control the impulses of our sinful nature, by the power of the Holy Spirit in us - Galatians chapter 5.

Also, according to science, there are two parts of the human brain. One is the logical part, and the other is the emotional part.
What happens is that our emotional part of the brain, gets all the information from the outside world first, before even that information reaches our logical part. So when we actually respond to our environment around us first with our feelings, and latter on, our logical part of the brain, starts to analyse things. We first feel before we think. That is called 'emotional hijacking' or 'amigdala hijacking' in scientific terms.

When we are in stress or danger, our emotional part of the brain reacts first, before our logical part of the brain reacts. Our emotional part of the brain, called 'amigdala' causes our body to get into fight or flight mode, by making the body to release adrenaline and other hormones. Our emotional part of the brain acts in 'survival' mode, trying to protects us, so it makes us angry, ready to fight, or flight.

The thing is, our emotional part of the brain, somehow 'highjacks' and takes over our logical part of the brain, so that we are overhelmed by emotions and we can not think straight. Our emotional part of the brain, somehow blocks our thinking for awhile, so that we act entirely emotionally.

There is a part of psychology called 'emotional intelligence', which deals with these things.
