How much more is God's Grace to us who seek Him, who are called according to His Purpose -The words of a talebearer are like tasty trifles,
And they go down into the inmost body.
Amen. Gods grace is there in our weaknesses. If we are gossiped about, persecuted, robbed, or mistreated, then God's grace sustains us mightily. We can have joy and peace as the Lords strength sustains us.How much more is God's Grace to us who seek Him, who are called according to His Purpose -
His Word "down into the inmost body" produces life and healing and peace and joy and health to the bones !
(to heal us all completely from the devilishness of the world and of the flesh and of sin)
so true! His Word "down into the inmost body" produces life and healing and peace and joy and health to the bones !
Do you see a person wise in their own eyes?
There is more hope for a fool than for them. Prov 26:12
Wise people don't often see themselves as wise because they know they can still become wiser, so a person who thinks they're wise is actually a fool because they don't realize the folly in their false sense of wisdom. Kind of a confusing concept to me. You would think that as a person becomes wiser, they would start to recognize the wisdom they've gained, but instead they still believe they aren't wise and yet continue gaining wisdom. I guess it's better to not consider yourself as wise and rather let others think of you as so, as opposed to thinking you're wise when everyone else sees that you aren't.
It makes me wonder whether the wise men who wrote Proverbs considered themselves as wise or not. I would think not based on this verse and others, but you never know...
Amen. Wise men do not see themselves as wise. What is note worthy also is that in order to be what God considers as "wise" there must be a healthy and appropriate "fear of the Lord". In this "fear of the Lord", the one fearing the Lord bows their will, their heart, mind, and soul to God only, and thus recognize WHO is the wise One and thus heed His wise words.
This verse comes to mind:
"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding." ~Proverbs 9:10
27 Whoever digs a pit will fall into it,
And he who rolls a stone will have it roll back on him.
1 Corinthians 3:18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
