Proverbs 23:
The Wisdom To "Hear".
AKA: Raising Beauty From Ashes.
"The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice." ~Pr 23:24-25
God is gracious, in that when He grants wisdom to those who "fear" Him, HE also changes their "heart", into a heart more like "His" own heart. Along with the "change of heart" there is discernment and a re-newed "honor" for our mothers and fathers. It is all put into perspective. We HONOR them for how God used each of them to bring us into this world, even with all of their weaknesses, foibles, and inept-ness. We are able to give them "due honor" for those things they DID tell us that were right.
When we give "due honor" to our mothers and fathers, God blesses us, and the bottom line is that we are set free from the constraints and a "forever-whining" heart that is stuck in the chains of the realms of a long-ago time lapse, where time "stands still" and of which there is no escape, and no healing, and no "wings".
God, along with His wisdom, gives us the "wings of an eagle". And we find that He did not just do so for our sakes alone, but for the sakes of our mothers and our fathers who were not able or could not ask for forgiveness. God uses us to be the "key turner" to let them out of that prison.
It is THEN that healing commences.
In the meantime, we are able to decipher those words and those things that our mothers said and did that WERE healthy and edifying, and give them their due honor for it.
This is how God raises beauty from ashes.
