Day 2, Proverbs Chapter 2

Genesis 3:24 So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.

proverbs 2:8 He guards the paths of justice,
And preserves the way of His saints.

Proverbs 3:18 She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her,
And happy are all who hold her fast.

1 My child, listen to what I say,

I like how these tell us that God teaches us wisdom, and that growing closer to Him will help us gain knowledge and understanding.

Yes! It's like, as we draw closer to God, He pours out ALL KINDS of blessings that are delightful, and we find out that it is a DELIGHTFUL thing to learn wisdom and understanding, and that it is truly a precious gift.

Proverbs 3:18 is profound...i was reading it and it sorta' stopped me in my tracks....

Wisdom is being called a "tree of life" here.......that is PROFOUND. It just hit me that it seems to tie in somehow to the "tree of life" in the Garden of Eden.

Gotta chomp on this awhile.

In the meantime.....

These verses below stood out for me in Proverbs 2. The bottom line is, if we do not learn the "fear of the Lord", we are not "knowing God" and it ties in with Jesus saying to those who claimed to be speaking for Him and doing all "for" Him and in His name. He said 'Depart from me, I never knew ye, ye workers of iniquity.'

"My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God." ~Proverbs 2:1-5
