It is good to start Proverbs again from chapter 1
4 These proverbs will give insight to the simple,
Let those hear who have the ears to hear.
Let those hear who have the ears to hear.
The words here are so encouraging,
5 Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser.
Let those with understanding receive guidance
6 by exploring the meaning in these proverbs and parables,
the words of the wise and their riddles.
the start of a new month is always full of anticipation, what will the Lord say to us this month?

Proverbs 1:
There are two verses that stood out for me. The first, when embraced, is knit inexplicably to the second verse posted, and it reminds me of this delightful verse:
"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." ~Jer 33:3
The "calling unto" the Lord is to SEEK Him in His Word. And when we DO seek Him in His Word, He "answers" us and He DOES "show" us "treasures" that we have NOT noticed, or "seen" previously. It's like digging for and finding hidden treasure, that "lights up" like a light just got turned on.

I have not read Proverbs in a long time primarily because Solomon confuses me so. Such wealth God lavished on this man who wasted so much of it.
But it is inspired I believe as are all scripture so I will try to follow along.
DAY 1 / Looking forward to reading through Proverbs again. What a treasury of wisdom,understanding and instruction. May God build into our lives His Word of truth day by day.

This is a profound and powerful and precious promise.

just saw this...is this AWESOME or what??!!! THIS is soooooo what I need. it's officially July 1st, so i'm starting with
Proverbs 1, yay!!
Two things(well three) that stand out for me:
The repeated theme of the "fear of the Lord"
"wisdom is referred to as "she"
that wisdom almost "shouts" to those willing to listen
Note: it must take a lot of determined effort to "not hear" the "crying out" of wisdom....this ties right into verses 24-30. In the deliberate ignoring of and spurning of the wisdom being practically "shouted out" they seal their own destruction with their own hand.
How tragic.
