Well, I listened to the piece. Does this guy ever think deeply about things before he says them? His main beef with Liturgy is its physicalness. This is very bad, according to Dave. In other words, Christianity should be nothing but a mind game? God apparently only cares about our brains. He doesn't care at all about our eyes, ears or noses. Hearing or reading the Bible- that's all that matters. He winds up his piece by saying what these folks always say when they have nothing left to say: Let's just get back to God. That's what my Evangelical boss always says when his arguments fizzle: I just wanna love Jesus. As if we don't? Using incense and candles means we don't want to love Jesus? What kind of whacked out thinking is this? I am sorry to be uncharitable, but my goodness!
