  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I've never really dating - not traditionally anyway.

So how do you all feel about dating?

Are you upset that you are home on "date" nights?

I never was upset because I had never been on dates.
It's our poll queen back to give us some much needed excitement on the singles forum.

Thank you hun!

You know what's funny. There was this girl at the bar tonight who's my cousin's friend. She was like 12 the last time I saw her, and we sled rode, and I drank beer. Now she's over 21. She was barely up to my chest the last time I saw her, now she stands like an adult. Man time flys fast. I'm glad we have all eternity to hang and chill out. I doubt I could even get a grasp on you guys characters in a lifetime of hanging out on the boards. Maybe during eternity, everyone can take a chill pill, and we can all blossom and meet people we like. Then we can totally hang out as long as we want. Plus we don't even know what reality may be like in the new heaven and new earth except there won't be suffering or pain. The more and more I think about it, the pain of dying is a joke compared to the awesomeness we'll enter into.

I won 35$ at a family poker night and went to a bar this weekend. So I actually got out. I also found out that I can no longer get drunk. I actually can't drink beer fast enough to intoxicate myself anymore. If I want to get drunk, I'd have to up myself to wine or hard liquor, which I'm not going to. Beer is cool by me. So I don't mind going out to a bar. I just can't get into any fights! God said he'll be "very upset" at people who hang out with drunkards and fight fellow Christians at the time Christ returns. I certainly don't want to be part of the hypocrites fate. I want an awesome destiny. I think we all do.

Did you read Revelations, where some of the most prized rewards would be to be a pillar in God's temple? Speaking physically, being a pillar must be an awful fate to live out eternity. But speaking spiritually, being a pillar could mean that you're a person of great significance in holding up the church, and that God wants you nearby. I just think it's awesome that God gives out so many different rewards. And I think it's awesome that everyone that's a good Christian gets the basics of eternal life and a connection to God.

hmmm, it isn't really about "dating" for me. I have never dated much and now there isn't much of a selection for me. I think i miss just having good conversation and having fun(clean fun) with a guy. So I don't really enjoy being home ALL the time, EVERY weekend by myself (I don't really have friends-guys or girls- that I do things with all the time). Sometimes it's nice to be by yourself, but all the time it gets old.

Nice CF outfit Mina.

Re the OP, I must say that I am glad to see that so far no one has voted for 'upset a lot'. This is a good sign for all of us! :)
I agree it is.

In college I roomed with a woman that was nearly devastated if she did not have a date.

For me I guess you can not miss something you never had.

So sorry to hear that.

Thanks  I'm slowly trying to come to terms with it but it's definitely not easy.

To answer the question in general, I've never really done 'dating'. I've had two relationships both with people I'd been friends with for a long time, so we never really went on official dates. So generally, no I wouldn't be upset about not having a date.

I'm not upset. I prefer hanging out with friends rather than dating. Of course, I've never dated. But I would think that the pressure to "romance" the other person would be too much and there would be more tension than fun...

I'm not really upset that I don't have a date. But I would prefer to have someone to share the evening with. Watching TV, dancing, etc.. Just someone to share some time with.. Nothing major really.. Just companionship..

Agreed.

i took a good 3 year break starting in 2004 for various reasons, i had other things to worry about and i wasn't interested. i guess i was maturing and trying to find myself as an adult with different interests, likes, and needs from my teenage year. so i wasn't upset at all. and since im not up for one night stands and/or drunken debauchery every weekend, that put me in a different category. lol

and now only this year has my "date-dar" come back to full functioning mode. i mean im just getting older so why not take a shot if i ever get a shot, that is. so yes im somewhat upset. :o
