ElElena, I believe what they're saying is that the participants on this thread are still single and looking for a gf. Some are rather uncertain about how to approach a man or woman OR they have had bad experiences in prior r'ships.

r'ships - cool way to say that -- I've had some good and some bad r'ships -- that all sounds part of preparing for the r'ship that is best for you, right

I gather that you play the piano, if your "character" is any indication of your hobbies or interests.

I plunk on the keys a bit and write music --- not a good pianist although I enjoy it all thoroughly

That's true. I often think that I'm a bit too harsh for some to understand what I say, when in reality, what I have said has been well thought out and tried to have been said with as much gentleness and kindness as possible. Sometimes, the truth hurts; yet, it's the Truth which will set you free. Simply put for me, mine is one of being accepted.

But that indicates that you have a musical background - in playing the piano, at least. Mine is both piano and voice, although I'm going to get back to business of re-learning how to play the piano once the opera is over!

do you think she is going to walk right by and you will know her when you see her or ........ what are your expectations

I have two expectations - 1) that the person follow up on her own interests and allow me to do likewise. That brings growth to a couple, IMHO. 2) That one's beliefs are not imposed upon me and vice versa.

I have an older friend with whom I can do this. She's married, but the common ground is in choral singing. We're across the Bay of Fundy from one another.

The Bay of Fundy is a body of water separating Nova Scotia, Canada from New Brunswick, Canada. ME also has the south-eastern part of its border along the Bay of Fundy.

Depending upon your location in the U.S., you might not have heard of it. Usually the New Englanders know of it, primarily for its lobster and shellfish fishing.

Actually it's knowing the truth that sets you free. The truth doesn't set you free unless you know it!
