Haha, you're dismissive of it, but you're clearly not even aware of the mountain of evidence that supports it.
For example. The endogenous retrovirus is a type of virus that embeds its genome into into the host's DNA, so the host copies the ERV's genome as it copies its own DNA, through mitosis. The ERV intergrates itself into the host's genome, so there will always be a DNA marker left behind in the host's genome. The ERV's genome is essentially now a permanent part of the host's, that ERV marker will also be passed down to the next generation. The point in which the ERV embeds itself in a genome is completely random. So, how, in a genome of over 3 billion base pairs in the almost identical human and chimp genomes, are there disticintive ERV markers in exactly the same place?
Pick a random number between 1 and 3 billion, then get someone else to pick a random number between 1 and 3 billion. You stand the same chance of picking the same number as an ERV stands of embedding itself into the same point of two seperate genomes. However, multiple ERV markers can be found in human and chimp genomes, in exactly the same places.
Move the number up to 5 random numbers between 1 and 3 billion, then get someone else to do it. You stand the same chance of picking the 5 same numbers, in the same order, as 5 ERVs do of picking the same spot in a genome of 3 billion base pairs.
Evolution explains why we find these markers in human and chimp genomes perfectly, but first I want to hear the creationist explanation.
It is the work of the Satan!
I should know, being a man of wealth and taste.
