  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was just wondering if any of you have considered taking dancing lessons with your s/o. My fiance and I have talked about taking dancing lessons before we get married, but not just for the wedding, but for fun too. I was looking at some salsa dancing lessons at the fitness club where we go, and I thought it sounded like fun. Josh was a little hesitant, he didn't know where we'd use it, but I'm sure we could find a club around here. I'm pretty klutzy though, so we'll have to see how it goes.

Do any of you dance, like swing, or salsa, or social dances like the waltz and foxtrot (there are others I just can't think of them). Do you go out on dates with your s/o to dance the night away?

It sounds like fun to me :)

My sorority holds dances twice a year so I often have the chance to dance. However, my boyfriend and I can barely two-step let alone salsa! I have mentioned taking lessons to him and he sounded interested, its just a matter of finding a place to learn for two poor college students :)

I would LOVE to learn to salsa! I lived in Mexico last year for a little while, and I was so envious of their amazing dancing abilites. My boyfriend isn't much of a dancer though, so I might have to work on him over time to learn with me lol. I go to salsa bars with my friends and pretend I know what I'm doing sometimes.... but it's not quite the same.

We have talked about taking dancing lessons all the time. We took square dancing lessons and danced for a while but really don't have time to do. We also wanted to learn how to line dance and couple dance together but have not had the time to go to lessons cause I am in college and live to far away to drive home for lessons once a week.

I know what you all mean about time and money...we're both college students too (and we work full time on top of that) The fitness club we go to offers lessons for pretty cheap, and there are some other places in the twin cities that have group lessons that you pay for whenever you go (like 25 dollars per couple, per night, on friday nights).

My s/o and I took a dance class last semester at school. We learned the basics of Night Club Two-Step, Lindy Hop(the predecessor of Swing), Mambo, and Cha-cha. I really, really enjoyed Cha-cha, and it was just a really fun time.

Fair warning: if you're expecting to take lessons with just one person, the way it usually works is all the partners rotate, so everyone gets the feel of dancing with different styles of leaders or followers.

I like to dance with my boyfriend, but I like for it to be just us...two stepping or slow dancing...being silly....hehe. It's a lot of fun. :) I don't know if we'd ever take dance lessons, he's not much of a dance lessons type guy ;) Oh well, he's still a cutie

If any of you guys live in the UK, Australia, or NZ then lookup Ceroc. Its a fusion of Salsa and Jive and is great fun. It has become the most popular form of partner dance in the UK. Furthermore, the guy who invented it has become a Christian and Ceroc is also run in Churches in London too. For more info, pls PM me.

I love to dance! Whether salsa, hiphop, bebop, funk, disco.... I like it all!! Actually at my college campus I'm starting this breakdancing ministry to just give it all up for our God. HOLLA! But as for relationships, me and my gf go to this contradancing (like square dancing) thing once a month and it's always fun to just express yourself and enjoy it with your partner. I would be happy to give a ton of websites where you can dl free vids to upgrade your "moves" :D Although... I have not hit the 15 post mark yet... Ah well, it'll happen eventually :p
