We toil tirelessly and are criticized continually, simply because our hope is in the living God. He is the wonderful life-giver of all the children of men, and even more so to those who believe. ~TPT

I'm just curious if the local assembly you go to teaches Universal Salvation.

Why won't you answer this question?

God bless.

Luke 2:10 But the angel said to them, Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people."

The Gospel means good news. If even one person is not saved, then it is not good news for everyone. The Gospel for the world means that all flesh will receive salvation from Jesus Christ!
The Gospel announced by angels is indeed extraordinary good news of glad tidings for all the broken and bruised of the schism of one mans sin!

What the 1st Adam does, the Last Adam undoes.

Here's one of my favorites, Genesis 1:1, a very foundational verse: In the beginning God created the HEAVEN and the EARTH. Emphasis added to point out what is surely missing: "hell."

Good tidings of great joy, which shall be to SOME people?

The gospel was sent to the entire world, if someone hears the gospel, rejects it and is not saved it ain't God's fault.
Here is a little analogy.
A man lived out in the country beside a road and a river ran beside that road. It began to rain
heavily, and the water rose until it reached the road. A person driving a 4-wheel drive vehicle stopped by and offered to help the man. He said, "No thank you. God will take care of me." It continued to rain, and the water continued to rise until it covered the road. A person with a boat came by and offered to help the man. He said, "No thanks. God will take care of me."
It continued to
rain; the water was so high the man had to climb on his roof. A person with a helicopter came by and offered to help the man. Once again, he said, "No thank you. God will take care of me."
Finally, the man drowned. When he got to
heaven, he complained to God for not helping him. God said, "I sent you a 4-wheel drive vehicle, a boat and a helicopter what more could I have done?"
God sent His one and only son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. What more could He have done?
In this country one can't turn on a TV or radio, buy a newspaper, drive on a major highway. without at some time hearing/seeing a Christian message. If people ain't saved it is not God's fault. What more could He do?
I lived/worked in California from '92-'98. One of the very few things I liked about California is the numerous Christian radio stations which were available. I could and often did drive the 8 hours from San Francisco to Irvine and listen to Christian radio the whole way.

Thanks for the link Steve, that thread is an excellent read. Keep up the great posts!

John 1:9 "The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world"

The truth will be shown to every man in the world! What is the truth? God is truth! He never lies! This shows that God will be with everyone in Heaven because Christ will save all people!

Almost anybody can make the Bible say almost anything by quoting selective vss. out-of-context as you have done, here.
Why did you omit the next 2 vss? Because they don't fit your false narrative!

John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
John 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
Let us read what Jesus said about this.
Matthew 7:21-23
(21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
(22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
(23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Jesus, Himself, said "Not every one shall enter into the kingdom of heaven" Many will tell Jesus what "great things" they have done in His name. But He will say to them "I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity." When Jesus says "never" He means never.

Here's one of my favorites, Genesis 1:1, a very foundational verse: In the beginning God created the HEAVEN and the EARTH. Emphasis added to point out what is surely missing: "hell."
Something like that was certainly prepared!
Matthew 25:41
(41) Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

EOB
Matthew:25:46 When he will answer them, saying: ‘Amen, I tell you: as much as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ 46 These [ones on the left] will go away into eternal [αἰώνιος/aionios] punishment, [κόλασις/kolasis] but the righteous into eternal [αἰώνιος/aionios] life.”
…..Greek has been the language of the Eastern Greek Orthodox church since its inception, 2000 years ago +/-. Note, the native Greek speaking Eastern Orthodox Greek scholars, translators of the EOB, translated “aionios,” in Matt 25:46, as “eternal,” an adjective, NOT “age” a noun.
Who is better qualified than the team of native Greek speaking scholars, translators of the Eastern Greek Orthodox Bible [EOB], quoted above and below, to know the correct translation of the Greek in the N.T.
?

Link to EOB online:
The New Testament ( The Eastern-Greek Orthodox Bible) : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive
…..The Greek word “kolasis” occurs only twice in the N.T., 1st occurrence Matt 25:46, above, and 2nd occurrence 1 John 4:18., below.

EOB 1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear is connected with punishment.[κόλασις/kolasis] But the one who fears is not yet perfect in love.
In the EOB the Greek word “kolasis” is translated “punishment” in both Matt 25:46 and 1 John 4:18.
Some mis/uninformed folks claim “kolasis” really means “prune” or “correction.” However, that is an etymological, root word fallacy. According to the EOB Greek scholars “kolasis” means “punishment.”
Note: in 1 John 4:18 there is no correction, the one with “kolasis” is not made perfect. Thus “kolasis” does not/cannot mean “correction.”
…..It is understood that modern Greek differs from koine Greek but I am confident that the Greek speaking EOB scholars, supported by 2000 years +/- of continuous Greek scholarship, are competent enough to know the correct translation of obsolete words which may have changed in meaning or are no longer in use and to translate them correctly. Just as scholars today know the meaning of obsolete English words which occur in the 1611 KJV and to define them correctly.

Thanks for all the replies once again. I will use this opportunity to clarify on another one of my beliefs. Alongside Universalism, I also believe that faith alone in Jesus Christ saves a person. I believe those two beliefs go hand-in-hand as eventually, all people will believe in Jesus Christ and be saved through His blood of redemption on the cross.

James 2:13 "Mercy triumphs over judgment"

Some critics use verses from James to falsely show that your good works alone are what saves you. But rather, it is faith alone in Jesus Christ, through grace, that saves us. We do good works because we’ve been saved, because we love God. Like fruits bearing from a tree. So eventually, all people will do good and be turned to righteousness. We have all done bad works, we are all sinners, so therefore we must all be saved together.

Now, further on in the creation account of Genesis, chapter 1, God makes a number of pronouncements:

“Let there be light…” (verse 3)

“Let there be a firmament…” (verse 6)

“Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place…” (verse 9)

“Let the earth bring forth grass…” (verse 11)

“Let there be lights in the firmament…” (verse 14)

“Let the waters bring forth...” (verse 20)

“Let the earth bring forth…” (verse 24)

“Let us make man in our image…” (verse 26)

Quotes are from the KJV.

In this list of eight pronouncements, there is no “Let there be a Hell…” Such a thing would have been at odds with what God had created so far – foundation on foundation, resulting in life and good, and then a place of destruction? No, we see here a God of creation, of blessings...not cursings.

Logical fallacy. Argument from silence or ignorance. The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
I don't see a "Lake of fire" in this list but there is certainly one mentioned several times in the book of Revelation. I also don't see "outer darkness where there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth" that Jesus mentioned.

Hi Lazarus Short! Thanks for stopping by on the thread.

I remember seeing your posts on the Tentmaker site as well, so it's good to see you here too. I 100% agree with your statement. Our God is a God of blessings, not curses. Everything God does is good.

Romans 12:14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

As well, here's today's Universalist verse. It fits with the theme of everything that God does is good.

Psalm 145:17 "The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does.

Everything that God does is good! If God does not save people, then that is not good. Therefore, God will save all people. He will do good in every way. He will always be faithful to us. He promised us, through Jesus Christ, that all of mankind will see salvation. He will not break that promise, because He is faithful in everything!

Where did God promise "us, through Jesus Christ, that all of mankind will see salvation."?
That is NOT what Jesus, Himself, said. See my post #27 above.

Gen. 12:3 "All peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

Right from the beginning, it was God’s plan all along to save everyone. A person can not be blessed if they are not saved. Yet, the Bible clearly says that everyone will blessed. Thus, everyone will receive salvation.
