As the article mentioned, a lot of Americans have opinions about the
economy, that are positions of their political party. And are not
opinions based on the metrics of how the American economy is doing.

economy, that are positions of their political party. And are not
opinions based on the metrics of how the American economy is doing.
Yes, yes, yes. what about preserving our financial resources whatever they are. It really bothers me when people complain about the economy without provided the metric they are following. Because they are not following any metric, simply complaining about whenever is on office as if that person is entirely responsible.

The reality is that Covid threw the entire world into economic shock and we have been recovering very well though not perfectly.

  • Global growth: The IMF projects global growth to be 3.1% in 2024 and 3.2% in 2025.

  • Inflation: The IMF projects global inflation to be 5.8% in 2024 and 4.4% in 2025.

  • US real GDP: The Conference Board projects real GDP to expand by 2.6% in 2024. The BEA estimates that real GDP increased at an annual rate of 2.8% in the third quarter of 2024.

  • US consumer spending: McKinsey & Company says that US consumer optimism reached its highest level since before the COVID-19 pandemic in the fourth quarter of 2024.

  • US leading indicators: The Conference Board says that the LEI fell by 2.2% over the six-month period between April and October 2024.

  • US construction activity: The US Department of Commerce says that total construction activity for October 2024 was $2,174.0 billion.

  • US personal income: The BEA says that personal income increased $147.4 billion in October 2024
