I can't afford it right this moment, but I am curious if anyone subscribes to Curiosity Stream and what they think of it...

It actually looks like a cool channel, and I may consider throwing the 20 bucks at it if it's worth it, so I'd like to hear from those who have this channel..

All their commercials look awesome, and the latest with the bioluminescent sea creatures well, what's not to love?

Thought and experiences welcome!

Is it a TV channel?

I do not have a TV,

Yet I am forced to pay for a TV licsense, new law this year,

how,s that for democracy?

Not only that but each person in a household that has an income,
it is an add on incometax.

Yeah, it looks cool, but I don't want to shell out for another channel at this point. I think most the content can be got on Netflix, etc.

If I had kids in the house, then I would subscribe for them because it appears to be a lot more wholesome than regular TV (not a Disney fan).

I have regular television and internet package, it was actually less expensive here in my area to have a television and internet package than it was to have internet alone.

So I have all the basic channels which includes things like Food Network, Discovery Channel , History channel, one of the hallmark channels, inspiration channel and more.

But Discovery and History channels are all reality t.v. now, or really bad shows like ancient aliens. .. before they changed to this kind of thing they were wonderful channel's that had documentaries on history and science type stuff which I enjoy.

From what I've heard, Curiositystream is owned by discovery channel, and they've spent years buying the rights to all these types of documentaries and now they are selling viewership to this new channel.

My concern is buying it for this type of content and then find out after I've purchased it that what its showing is more like the current discovery channel, instead of what it used to be...

Some people in some reviews I've seem say Nova is better than Curiosity, so I'm kind of torn not knowing if I spend money to stream this whether I'll find myself disappointed in the end.

Since I already pay for television, I'm really torn about buying more anyway, especially if it turns out to be little different than what I have currently, which is why I was hoping to speak to someone who actually had this channel.

The ads for it are interesting - there's really only one way to find out if it's worth it to you...You can always cancel later. NatGeo has some good shows.

Nova is excellent, though.

I know what you mean about channels changing direction. The Learning Channel used to have actual educational shows and A&E used to mean "Arts and Entertainment" when they had dance and music. The Home and Garden channel, now HG, used to have actual gardening shows. Pfft.
